Altima Hybrid vs Camry Hybrid vs Aura Greenline

2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid vs. Saturn Aura Green Line vs. Toyota Camry Hybrid Comparison Test - Automobile.com Saturn Car Review

"Nearly unanimously, our favorite was the Altima. It wasn't the most efficient hybrid here, though it was close thanks to the technology it shares with the Camry. What impressed us, and ultimately won us over was the integration of the hybrid drivetrain, not only with the engine, but with the rest of the car. Especially its character. The Altima was the quickest of the bunch, the most enjoyable to drive, and what's more is that it felt just like the regular Altima to drive. For its efforts, the Altima Hybrid snatched first place, and is our hybrid midsize sedan of choice."

Cool, way to go Nissan. This coming from a Lexus owner

Isn't the Altima Hybrid more of a performance-oriented hybrid as opposed to the Camry where it's more fuel economy focused?

Funny thing though, I read somewhere that the current Camry Hybrid is faster than the last generation V6

I don't think "camry" and "performance" should be used in the same sentence together. IMO, toyota is becoming the next oldsmobile. Hell, they had to go invent scion to even get younger people to look at their cars

^The new V6 Camry makes 268hp/248lb.-ft so it's kind of sporty especially in the SE package. I'm not saying it's the next Supra by any means but it does have a little punch.

Back on topic, I think the whole new Altima line-up beats everythings in its class.

Toyota's definitely not the next Oldsmobile, but the Avalon sure looks like a mix between a Buick and a fishing boat!! HAHA! I still like it though...it's just huge!

The Camry is pretty descent, especially with the V6, but no match for the Altima.

I'm not surprised, if you've driven the last generation V6 camry, you'd know that it handles like ass and it moves like wounded elephant. In addition, nothing in that car is comfortable. The placement of everything feels very unnatural, I even got a sore lower back from driving it for an hour or so.....

My gf's parents owns one and I honestly feel that my 4 banger altima can eat that thing alive....gotta do a drag race some time lol.

After driving that piece of crap, I now know why so many people hate driving....its because they own a camry....

um...NAH isn't a performance-oriented hybrid. i think the programming is a bit different to allow it to feel quicker. i just think that the base altima just gives you a lot more response so it trickles over to the hybrid whereas the camry is and always has been a boat (i do own a last gen camry too) and the ride is numbing (good car for my mom though)

real performance hybrids don't sell really well and they have V6's (ie, discontinued accord hybrid and gs450h)

It wasn't possible to get an Altima hybrid in NC, or in 41 other states, unless you went out of state to buy one. Everything I read said that they were only available in 8 states- the ones with favorable tax treatments. I thought about one, briefly, but I will only drive a few thousand miles a year, so there wouldn't be nearly enough savings to persuade me to get one. Especially with the tax penaly I would pay for buying out of state.
Sounds like a nice car, though.
