New here! Need some help with some wheels

Hey guys!

Nice to see an Altima Coupe specific forum. I just got a 2.5S Coupe and I'm searching for some wheels. I've been searching tirerack.com and have found a few that I like in 18's, but my only problem is, I'm not going to lower the car and I don't want the wheel gap after putting the aftermarket wheels on. Can anyone here help with sizes that will fill the wheel well without lowering the car? I've been looking on cardomain.com and have found a few with 18's and they have a big gap...I dont' want that look at all. Lowering isn't going to be an option because I live in Canada and drive this car in the snow. These wheels and tires will only be for the summer.

If you guys could help me with sizes, and possibly show me some pictures that'd be great!

The gap will be there, unless you modify your tire size to one that will have a larger than OE diameter - which will in turn mess up your speedo and odo. If you're willing to do this, and you can get some tire/rim combos from some other folks that won't rub, than all the power to you.

Use this calculator to do some approximations if you like...

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply!

It won't be too big of a deal if the speedo and odo are out a little bit. I just want the best possible look, without looking like I cut corners. Can you recommend me a good tire size for an 18" wheel that would be bigger than OE and fill the gap a bit better?

I hesitate to recommend, as I have a 3rd gen Alty...If yours is anything like mine, the rear gap is significanly less, meaning you will be bound by what will fit in the back.

Try a 245/45 18. 8" width.

Should be about as big as you can go safely.

Very little gap in back, little bigger in front, but you need the clearance.

Oh, and try to stay away from curbs with your new wheels.

Thanks for the suggestion....I'm definitely going to be looking into that.

I'll have to post pics when I find some and mount them.

Well I'm back...I've been searching and researching, and thought maybe a set of 18" 350Z wheels would look kinda cool! Would these fit? Do I need adapters?

I have 18x7.5 rims with a 48mm offset with 225/45/18 tires and Eibach pro-kits. Honestly you can go with a 18x8.5 rims 35mm offset, lower the car and use 245/45/18 tires with no rubbing.

Why not lower it? It looks way better. If your going for the stock look get g35 wheels.
