im in major need of replacing my rotors and pads. warping rotors and weak pads that are worn down are no good!!!
what version of the pads would you recommend to be at the OEM level in terms of stopping power but would last the longest with minimal fade? the yellow ones right?
commuter for life here! there is a valley i drive through that's 2-3 miles long. first half is high speed turns w/ slight banks but the second half has 25mph turns w/ no banks + elevation changes so i put my car to work everytime i get the chance. i only have raybestos pads from kragen's but i do have powerstop cross drilled rotors up front. so i do experience brake fade when i put the car to work, especially when i stop coming from highway speeds. but brake dust is absent which is good. i think i had these pads for 50k+. i experience a bit of vibration under high speed braking which i'm sure is coming from the original rear rotors so i could use new pads and rear rotors before next year.
what i'd like is a much stronger bite, and are better than average on pad wear. i'm sure any pads that can be used for the track are better than the raybestos'...
i live in brooklyn ny and i am quite heavy on my pedals i love my car and need to be able to thread needles on a constant basis. i need brakes that will work with me and my driving style all the while giving me control and performance i would expect from a higher grade pad. plus i really need something quite and clean.
I changed my pads about 5,000 miles ago and I didn't want to wait for shipping so i bought some pads from advance auto parts. They were advertised as noise-free and dustless but they do both . They squeak at high speed stops and dust collects on my wheels.
My ultimate brake pad is dustless, no noise, and long-lasting. Oh, and some stopping power would be great too
i want somethiing that i could trust for the winter time!
and i would love to get rid of the vibrating steering wheel when i press the brakes at higher speed. Also to get rid of the god awful dust!
thx!
stopping...longer lasting...and the most important-minimal brake dust! I hate having to clean my wheels all the time...makes them all nasty looking if i don't with all that stupid brake dust...

I need brakes that resist fade and aren't loud as all hell! And rotors! I need non-warpable rotors, but I think that's as good a wish as smelling a fart in the wind.
