This thread makes me remember my brake retrofit thread when I was getting close to finishing lol. Ever since I saw what they could have looked like with your powder coating I thought about it. Your making me depressed 4DZC ....
I have something though in the near future that definitely needs your touch (no-homo) !

Gotta save some of that green paper first lol ! I'll be shooting u one when I have enough to take care of the must-do's and for you to do this! How do you charge if you dont mind me asking here? like typically for most of the stuff you do? just trying to get somewhat of an idea ! Or we can PM lol...
i need to find a spare valve cover set to send you. I'm gonna check the junk yards this weekend and see if i can find any that are totaled and i can take them off.
Well I can powder coat them, but its a whole different application. The newer valve covers are composite, which means I cannot run a static charge thru them like aluminum....this is what allows the powder to "stick" to the part. With composites I have to apply the powder "wet" which means a special additive so that I can apply it via my HVLP paint gun. Aluminum/steel, even magnesium isnt an issue...lol but composite material wont pass electrical charge. It can be done, just a little different application.

Looking into translucent powders over a Silver Argent or Reflective Chrome base for your color choice Dex.
Thanks. It's not a big deal though. Just an oranger color than the Copper Metallic is fine. Don't put yourself out. I'd be happy with a burnt orange powder. I would just want it to be a bit more lively than the Copper Metalic but not as loud as an Orange. Something inbetween would be nice. I like the color of the one I showed you but the texture doesn't have to be the same.
The color is found on VHT Burnt Copper. One of my friends had painted some enlays of his VW grill with it and I liked it and had intended to just do the calipers myself with that color. I'm so glad you were able to work them in. I'm sure the powdercoat will hold up way longer than the OTC paint.
