350z/g35 front brembo fitment.

So I got to thinking about my BBK that I have sitting in front of me deciding what color to go with. I bought the AP Racing front and have 350z rears. We all know the rears are a direct bolt on besides the cutting of the dust shield which is easy. So then I thought why didn't the fronts fit again. Couldn't remember the details so instead of looking into it more, I bought my AP kit and now again trying to remember again why they don't fit. After some thinking I remembered a member who made the front brembos fit and it all came to me.

The member theblackone is the one who made them fit and that came to me when I was looking at my gauge pod I bought from him last year. All he did was shave the front rotors an 1/8" off and rebalanced them and no problems that I know of.
Does anyone know what if anything will happen to shaving the rotors? If nothing, then an easy and cheap BBK is right in front of us and should be taken advantage of. If I would have remembered this then I would of explored this more. Since the SER has bigger rotors will it be a direct fit then for the SER. Might be worth checking out for someone looking to upgrade.

I apologize if this is all old news, I just don't recall seeing this info on here lately.

there was a guy on the max forums that made custom brackets to make the Front Brembos fit too, but that has since been long gone. Not sure about shaving the rotors, are you talking shaving the outside of the rotor and not the braking surface?

not sure about the difference between the brackets on the SER vs the normal 3rd gens.. but the SER's id assume are bigger since the rotors is larger. But i know the 6th gen maximas have the same brackets/front brakes as the SER, and those needed brackets made too.

There was a guy, but like you said it was a long time ago. those bracket do come up for sale once in a while and fetch a pretty penny for them too. I missed buying one those sets by a day.Well since the 6gen needed brackets then It wouldn't be a direct bolt on on the SER then.

Shaving the outside is what he did. He said he shaved 1/8" all around and rebalanced them. That is what I was wondering if shaving the outside and re-balancing them was ok and if it would affect the braking in any way. A 1/8" is not very much and if there isn't any problems with doing this, then this would be the way to go for BBK/upgrade.

yeah i dont see how shaving off a 1/8 all around would hurt as long as they are re balanced. Doing that and they fit with the factory SER/6th gen brackets? Might not be a bad option, should checke around for shops who would shave & balance them

For me it is too late since I have the Ap kit but trying to get all the info straight for everyone else. It's an affordable BBk/upgrade and you can have a matching set if all you have to do is shave 1/8" off. I looked on his profile for pics but they are long gone, but I did find this for proof and more info on it on the org. He has pics on there and all the info and it seems the only other thing he needed was longer front brake lines. Post #26 is where his pics and info are. You may want to check out post #48, everything else is just off topic bullcrap.

good info. But the Wilwoods can be had for only like 100$ more then the Brembo's, and they are direct bolt on w/ stock rotors so i think that would be the easier route to go. with machining of the rotor needed and longer brake line, it would probably cost the same in the end.

Just saying. But all around brembos would look cooler then wilwoods up front and brembos out back lol

Theoneblack was the very same member I contacted years ago about his brembo braking system. Of course, at the time I messaged him, he was no longer active.

I chose wilwoods to be an alternative and worked out well thus far.

Just paint the wilwood front calipers along with brembo rears . Or run wilwoods all around?

This is one of my points I was trying to make and one of the reasons this came up in the first place when I was looking at my calipers. Even though they don't look way off and most people wouldn't even notice. In the end it would just be out of personal preference. Me personally I would go the brembo way because it is way cheaper than the Ap racing kit I have, and to have a matching look. The wilwoods match the rear brembo better than my AP kit but I just don't like how the wilwoods look so I paid more for the AP. lol.
What ever people decide is all good . Just trying to keep members informed that might not know up to date and have an option. This info has been lost so just throwing it out there. Maybe sticky it.
