Rode around in a 05 Xtera (6 speed)

Friend just picked up a brand new 2005 Xterra, Off Road edition. Comes with all sorts of goodies like 2/4 wheel limited sleep, locking rear diff,vdc,etc...
And he was able to find a manual, 6 speed!
That thing is fun!
Truck definitely has some power, he was able to chirp his tires on a 1-2 shift

Actually feels faster then my GTP(not that it actually is hehe) because you're so much higher up and all you see is the road accelerating, and it's quiet too, you don't really get the sense that you're at full speed until you look at the speedometer! Has 265hp/284tq, now that's a meaty V6 that's for sure.

only thing is getting out the back seats with those tiny doors can be a pain, but who cares, as lnog as the driver's comfortable eh?

Overall a great truck,decently quick+has plenty of room under the hood

Yeah I like mine too, I wish I would have gotten the OR though.

I will take a basic X any day as my beater daily driver - they are sturdy!

yeah thats the thing that struck me. yes, the interior is cheaply made, even less comfortable then my pontiac's, but everything kinda has the "rugged/sturdy" feel to it. Friend says he'll be taking it off road soon, I can't wait to go along for the ride .If I was looking for a compact SUV right now I don't think you can do better then an xterra for $23k.
