New to Nissan

I just bought a 1984 Nissan 720 with a Z24 under the hood.
The engine needed a rebuild (low compression, burning oil) so I pulled it and set it on the bench.
Now, the previous owner told me that it was not the original engine, so bare that in mind.
While inspecting the internals I ran into a slight issue... the main journals on the crank are considerably larger than the advertised 2.163"
My actual measurements are 2.3585".
Is there something I'm missing here?
I need to order a rebuild kit, but don't want to get the wrong parts.
Is there a way I can determine the origin of the block by the casting number?
The numbers on the block are Z24 126531
Thanks,
Dan

You have a later Z24 ... I looked up 1987 Nissan Hardbody Z24i and the Main journal diameter is 2.3599-2.3604 in

Oh and I am sorry ... You are new to Nissans and got one of the worst Nissans built ... I hate those trucks , gutless and always run funky ... I hope you dont base your opinions on Nissan on that truck !!

Outstanding. That's what I like to hear...

Thanks for the info, I do appreciate it. As far as the truck goes, if it gets me to work and back and costs me less than $90 a week to drive to work, it will be OK in my book .

I retired my 1 ton Chevy (6.2 diesel... that will also give people VERY poor opinions of GM diesels ) when fuel hit 4.00/gal (that was 80 friggin cents ago )
As long as the little truck starts, runs & gets me to work I'll be a happy camper. I won't be hauling or towing anything other than my a$$ and perhaps a case or 2.

Thanks again
