I can understand your frustration that the vehicle you purchased is not getting the mileage as advertised. However, much like what others have said, the mpgs will vary on your driving style. Keep in mind that within the first thousand kilometers, the engine mgt computer is learning how you drive, i.e. acceleration, deceleration etc. If you begin driving it like a bat out of hell, the computer will memorize this. Also, if you were interested in getting better gas mileage, the Toyota Prius might have been a better choice?
I would love to get 34 mpg, however, I drive a Titan that gets 18 mpg at best (with the wind, going down hill).
