Front end clunks can be a variety of things from simple sway bar bushings, sway bar links to inner or outer tie rod ends or cv joints, but cv joints usualy show up during turning. How many miles does your car have on it?

That seems a little young for a tie rod ends, so i would check the sway bar look at the bushings that mount to the body and the bushings on the links that attach it to the steering knuckle. If you cant see anything try grabbing it and pulling on it, if that doesnt do anything try putting the front end on jackstands (as a mechanic that has had accidents i cant stress the need for these) with the tires off the ground to relieve tension and visually inspect and pull on it again. If this yields nothing, try wiggling the tie rod ends between the rack and pinion and the knuckle.

No spec, just tight. Also, there have been problems with the lower steering link. And i'm starting to think struts. But the lower steering link is $500 for some reason. But I think its covered under the power train warranty. If you can feel a solid clunk or knock in the wheel rather than the rest of the car, thats what it is. It's starting to happen to mine. Struts are covered under power train.
