08 versa jerks

08 versa jerks when u let of the brake in reverse or drive it jerks until u give it gas

08 versa automatic 99k miles

any help would be thankful

Need more info....Describe how it jerks. Did you check the plugs to ensure they arent damaged? Any codes ( while using a code reader)?

once i put in drive and relase the brake pedal the car jerks and once i give it gas it is fine no smoke or hesitation on the road only from 0 if i just release the brake pedal and let it run on its own it will jerk

dealer said

a bit of oil in my intake they said it is the early stages of bad piston oil rings and i might need a new engine soon quote is at $4500 for new engine to be put in

Arent you still under warranty? We just replaced the engine in my wife's versa under warranty @ 30K miles for excessive piston slap. Trust me they tried to get out of it stating they couldnt "duplicate" the problem. If your still under warranty a new short block should be covered.

what does this have to do with the OP's original thread??

@OP, maybe it would be cheaper to sell the car either through private party or carmax and use that money you get towards another slightly new Versa or other Nissan
