It depends on what the judge says.

It was actually 82 in a 55, and it happened last year...the ticket for 105 was issued a few months back...I feel like a real and I'm not real sure what I'm going to say to thejudge

NYSBikeCop,
Hey when parking, is "standing" and "parking" 2 different things ? I thought that "standing" meant that the car was stationary but running, and that "parked" was with the car not running ? If I got a "no standing" ticket while I was "parked", with the car off, can I fight that shit with these technicalities & shit ? Man that shit is $115

Nevermind, I think I found the answer: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/pdf/trafrule.pdf Ain't this some shit. . ::sigh::

No Standing is just that No Standing. Doesn't matter if it's running or not. You are standing there. It's just to drop off and pick up immediately. If not you're standing. Hence the tix ytou received.

Plead not guilty...The city is so backlogged that they are offering to reduce fines so they can close cases...Your $115 will drop to $90 under the offer...

I just read this thread from start to finish....I live in CT and doesnt seem like cops up here are as bad as down there. I did get pulled over in Mass for my exhaust and told the cop it was 50 state legal and he told me that doesn't matter. I just got a warning. I also have 20% tints and to my luck havn't got pulled over for them yet. I always put my windows down when I see a cop. I don't get all these laws...to me it's leaving to many holes for the cops to pick and choose who they feel like going after. Not fair.

If you break the law and a cop busts you for it, regardless of if you were picked out of 10 cars, you were still breaking the law. Some get caught, some don't. Stay legal and you don't have to worry. Sounds pretty fair.

In MA the law is that no exhaust that is louder than stock is legal. 50 State Legal just means it is emissions legal. It says nothing about being a legal volume.
