so in other words dont mod a car? That doesnt sound fair to me. What if thats people hobbies.....or what if you do mod your car and in NewYork you cant even do a muffler mod or you will get a ticket....the cops might as well go to every car show and issue tickets....yea sounds real fair....its all BS....how about dealing with people commiting real crimes? Now thats fair!!

^^That is going to extreme..The problem is the fools that DO NOT use common sense after doing a mod. Going through a neighborhood at 11 o'clock at night, while revving your exhaust or boomin' even is just plain stupid. That is one reason why we have the laws we have. All because of fools who do not have any common sense.
Exactly. I HAVE an exhaust. I HAVE a big system. The exhaust has been on my car for over a year and a half. I've rolled the dice and won. The thing is though, I'd still consider it completely fair for any of the 5 or more cops I see every single day to pull me over. In my experience, the people being harassed have brought it on themselves. (For the most part).
jebus, Acording to this guide everything is illegal that is better than stock... The best part is... Most cops don't know all these rules and don't care if it is not too extreme, because we pay for al this stuff and make the our economy a little better...
Not everything... but you do have to be really selective in what you mod to stay legal. So far I've managed with the Subaru, but I'm sure that won't last.
eyelids illegal at all? guy at my body shop thought any modification to tail or headlights is illegal

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this one?? I've been trying to dig up info on this...
That's not a law. It has to do with DMV. Either you have too many points, had to do with an accident, too many speed tix, was suspended at one time etc. Call DMV they will have the answer.
Here's the link, not too hard to find. Took a minute.
so about lights. its illegal to have smoked lights, but is it illegal to have eyelids? and if you change your amber turn signal to white thats legal because its white correct?

I put vinyl to cover up the chrome in my 05 altima tail light... its in no way blocking any light just concealing the chrome. Can the cops say anything about this.
