Hi Guys,

New to this forum and new Nissan Altima Coupe owner. Any suggestions on winter tires and where purchase them?

GTA area, Scarb/Markham preferred.

Thanks in advance!

Yes they do...but I've had some bad experiences with all-seasons (maybe it's just my driving lol)

Thanks DrunkMunky!

You can use your all season tires in the snow and will be fine in many situations (I did that for years). However, real winter tires are soooooo much better. I've been running Michelin X-Ice tires (mounted on 16" steel wheels) for the past couple of years. It made a world of difference on my Altima. All-seasons on a manual shift 3.5l without traction control was recipe for disaster. Not anymore. I can do the switchover myself when the first snow is forecast and can remove them when it looks like the worst of the winter weather is over. In 2 seasons, the steel rims pay for themselves because you don't have to pay for seasonal remounts/balance.

What kind of HID kit are you looking for? You're looking at a base price of 100 dollars for the cheapest and you go up from there. PM me and I can probably get you an HID kit for a decent price.

I just got my first set of snows installed at steelcase ... I got a good price there because my buddy works there .... but otherwise I heard the prices they were giving other customers, and it still sounded decent.

I've driven all seasons (w/stick) and no probs, I would imagine its worse in auto.

Well, take it from someone who's driven for 35 years+ that there is no comparison when it comes to all seasons vs. snows. Dedicated snow tires will pay for themselves in driving confidence in all cold weather conditions. If you're driving on anything other than completely cleared roads in the winter, snow tires are the way to go...I've been using Winterforce tires for the past couple seasons and they work great!
