What do you guys think about maximas?

it looks like that, i'm not too sure about the exact year. heres what i know: manual, 40k on new engine. the sunroof needs somethin fixed in there, it doesn't open smoothly. it has a new clutch. $2500. heres what makes this thing stand out: the guy's wife had a 300zx NA that she didn't need or want or whatever. and at that time, the max's engine took dump, so he put the 300zx's engine into the max. Octane told me in my last thread that the max already had the same v6 engine, but in the max it made 190hp, whereas in the 300zx it cranks out 220hp. my dad took it to the shop today, and brought it by for me to look at. its butt ugly, but the sleeper potential is too great. the mechanic said the car is in good shape and nothing should happen to it anytime soon, so its bascially mine. time to learn to drive stick YAY

if you really want to make it a sleeper... throw in nos, turbo, supercharger, carbon fiber seats.... THEN
hit it a few times with a sledghammer, knock out a window and cover it with a plastic bag, chrome spinner hubcaps, and the biggest coffee can exhaust you can find.

think of how pissed people would be when you beat em.

nos, turbo and a sc? i want a sleeper, not a 9 sec car. i think i see a turbo in the distant future tho....

I recommend if you want a sleeper as it (they aren't ugly cars once done up nicely with good body work) then invest in a supercharger for the car.

You can't put a 300ZX rear wheel drive engine into a front wheel drive maxima chassis.

And even if you could, why would you? We all know maximas suck anyway

Decoy, I don't think a SC is made for the 3rd gens. There are some turbo 3rd gens floating around though.

I had a 91 SE. Paid $300 for it and drove it every day for 2 years. Loved that car.

BTW: The VE motor in 3rd gens can be easily swapped with a VQ 4th gen. Then turbo it. 300++ WHP.

You're lucky to find the rear one in your color. You probably could get the front one painted cheap if you took just the door to a body shop.

My max is Sherwood green, which I think is exclusive to the SE-Limiteds.
