Waddy's Review:
Wait for the DVD......
It wasn't a bad movie it just wasn't worth $8, well $16 because I had to pay for my broke ass ex too, then she wondes why I am in absolutely NO hurry to get back together

.
Anyway back to the movie. The basic problem with Collateral is that they tried too hard to be mellow, the movie is so mellow that it became slow and tedious for the first hour. At first I was OK thats cool they are just trying to show how simple Max's (Jamie Foxx's character) life is and how Vincent (Tom Cruise's character) is gonna screw it all up. So I here I am waiting for Max to pick up Vincent in his cab and for all hell to break loose and for us to ride a wave of violence, good acting, intriguing plot twists, and engrossing scenes all the way to the end like in "Heat".
It didn't happen, at least not until about 30 minutes to go in the movie. The final 30 minutes were what I expected, the first hour and 10 minutes can kiss my ass. There were a couple of good scenes but not enough to make me feel like the movie had acheived all the promise that I had for it after seeing the trailer.
Also between Tom Cruise looking like they dipped him hair first into a bucket of baby powder, and Jamie Foxx trying his damndest to not go over the top and play this serious role like a Denzel or Don Cheadle would, there was alot of unintentional comedy. My ex even asked me if Jamie Foxx's character was supposed to have an accent, I said no, it's just that he's trying to be subdued and normal isntead his usual over the top comedic antics and we've never heard him act normal before.
Decent movie, wait for the DVD or catch on HBO next year. I shoulda went to see I, Robot instead....
