So I recently discovered a lump on my ear, and it's cauliflower ear (self-diagnosis). The cause is blood between the cartlige and the skin, and if not treated it will suffocate and kill the ear cartilige. The treatment is basically cutting the skin to drain the blood and then proper wound care.
Should I be considering this an "at home procedure"?? I don't think a doctor is needed here, just a scalpel and some bandages.
If you follow sterelization procedures and good care, why not? Then again, if you need a scalp to do it, I'd leave it to professionals.

Do you need any other reason then the above to get it taken care of?
I've had mine since i was 12, my ear isn't dead. I should say, it started when I was 12, and got bigger up until I quit wrestling at 18. It's the same size now, and fine, almost nine years later.
