Ever heard of DRM? Vista is hell in the making. Wait until a couple more service packs come out and some more hardware to support it all.

I will also say that Edgy had older versions of the ATI drivers that didn't support my X1400 very well, so I just installed Feisty of the bat rather then dealing w/ installing newer ATI drivers on Edgy (while it was still pre-release).
Does this new version of Network Manager supports WPA encryption as a standard feature? I'm still trying to get that working in Edgy. WEP is no problem, but that's a dead end.

No problem with graphic drivers here. I'm using an old Dell 7500 dual booting w/ XP sp2. Nice to know Feisty drivers are more compatible with modern hardware. That will make things easier when I buy a new laptop

Turn UAC off, then it isn't an issue.

Vista is leaps and bounds ahead of XP.

That it might be. But doesn't mean it's better for everyone. Network file transfer was dismal here at home and it couldn't burn a data DVD using DLA to save its life. As I said before, I'll wait until XP support is killed or Vista is more mature to think about moving.

Ummm... no. FUD.

Please go, read and learn. Like here for example.

Vista may be many things to many people but - XP is more restrictive as far as what will play "because of DRM".

I dunno, that is not good advice IMO, but - if you GOT TO turn it off, do it in a better way, here is how:

Brandon Paddock's Blog - Desktop Search and more » Blog Archive » More secure way to disable UAC. Without losing Protected Mode IE

That way you do not lose the IE7 protected mode, which happens when you turn off UAC in other ways.
