Yes, re- install iTunes and plug in your ipod. IF it doesn't transfer automatically, do this.

Set the iPod to file management mode (or something like that in Preferences).
Drag all your music files off ipod to itunes music folder.
Organize music folder, and itunes will recognize the garble and rename everything for you.

Shouldn't take too long unless you have to pull 80 GB off your ipod.

^^ what he said. Go to your iPod folder in iTunes and just drag files over to your HD.

if you have an ipod mini where the folders are all randomized....used a program like ipodrip.

iPodRip

I used CopyPod and it worked fine. It was free, but was a trial. Copied 100 songs at a time. Doesn't take too long, and you can copy directly back to iTunes.

I was going to say do it like this. I will post for future reference anyways. CTRL+ALT+DEL before plugging in IPod. Turn off 2 tasks that have Ipod names Serviceipod something etc. You will see them. Then plug your Ipod in via cable. Your Ipod will no longer open up Itunes. From there open it as you would a flash drive. Once in you will have to show hidden files. Then you will find your music randomized without names(you can still search the files and find what you want) Simply copy then store to computer. Then restart computer and add that folder to Itunes library. No softwear to use.

mad, don't drag and drop in iTunes, use windows explorer. Drag the random, wierd names from the ipod into your itunes music folder. Then re-add that folder to your music library.

Instead of using task manager like above/\/\/\, just turn on the file option on the ipod preferences tab of iTunes.

Hope this helps.
