(although it isn't on the tape), what about the fact that he muscled and forced his way to the mike? what about denying the other student his right to free speech and all that good shit?
if that is in fact true, then I think the cops showed reasonable restraint in this incident....and at least w/the tazer, it won't leave huge bruise marks and welts like the baton does.....
granted he was resisting arrest, but there was no reason for him to be asked to get down off the podeum in the first place. if asking controversial questions is against the rules when you get to the mic, then yes, he should have been asked to leave. but to be asked to get down from the mic for asking a few questions seems a little ludacris to me. and i definitely think that the police did use excessive force on the student. at least thats my take on it
If he were to have waited his turn, asked his " controversial" questions, and then allowed Kerry to answer, there would have been absolutely no problem. Unfortunately he was obviously there only to let loose his paranoid tirade (or jokingly make a scene), which he does not have a "right" to do. Like Michael mentioned, as soon as he was justifiably asked to leave the premise and refused, he became a trespasser.

well if it is true that he forced his way up to the mic then he was definitely out of line and got what he deserved. but i am basing my opinion of the situation on what i can see in the video, and because i wasn't there, then there is a possibility that the video doesn't show everything. so like i said i am only going by what i saw in the video
yeah i mean he is a dumb ass for making a scene...but the tazer was completely unnecessary...cops are punks for the most part...i hate about 8 out of 10 cops

Unfortunately, in the days of youtube, videos are shown out of context and never the full picture.
After he was lifted to his feet, he kept screaming and
yelling to let him go by continually pushing the officers. I read the man his Miranda rights
and explained why he was being placed under arrest. As the man was escorted down stairs
with no cameras in sight, he remained quiet, but once the cameras made their way down
stairs he started screaming and yelling again. Some of the comments that the man made were
"You can't kill me.", "They are giving me to the government." and "They are going to kill
me."
Quote:
The man was identified not only by the people there filming for him, but also by a business
card he had on him that had his picture on it. The card read, "TheANDREWMEYER.com
"Speak my mind." I asked him if he was Andrew Meyer and he said, "Yes, I am."
Dumb ass is just trying to get his 15mins, the more people spend time on this, the more he achieved what he set out to do. So just STFU and move on. Nothing to see here.
ok thanks for the report xtrema. the little shit got what he deserved. i'm not all for cops abusing their right to use force, but this kid got what he deserved, i'm sure cheated other people out of getting their questions answered by kerry, and i think that it really sucks for people who were looking forward to that. i'm not really in to all that, so the highlight of my day would have been watching that ass get tazed. lol

that's because you're 13 and still think it's cool to hate all cops for no reason. grow up feg
I'm not condoning this person’s action but we live in a civilized society and two wrongs do not make a right. If you do not agree with the way a person behaves there are ways to handle that without this type of scene happening. Regardless of whether or not you believe he deserved what he got it was handled wrong.

I only see 1 wrong and 1 appropriate action toward it. How can you prevent a scene and the offender designed it for the scene to happen? If I say there's something on your nose, are you not going to scratch it?
Action: Being an ass, disturbing peace and resist arrest
Reaction: Tazed.
I am quite sure the offender had no intention of getting tased. Someone needed to take charge and tell this kid his behaviour was unnacceptable and he would need to follow the rules or he would be removed prior to doing so.

John... I believe they pretty much told him from the get go that he was out of line but all he wanted to do was scream and shake all over and ask why he was being arrested even though they were just escorting him out at first... Then he acted like an ass even more and things escalated.

if you were any good in bed your wife would have remembered your anniversary and you would have gotten laid july 1.
I guess that really isn't evident from the video. I remember hearing his mike get shut off, and the next thing you know they come to escort him out. I'm sure all this will come up in the trial.

Read my post about 7-8 posts up. You'll feel totally different toward this clown.
