WTF? Family sues bat maker . . .

This is ridiculous! A family is suing Louisville slugger for the bat that was used in a GAME that their SON WAS PLAYING that caused injury. HOw about sue the parents for not showing the kid how to catch the damn ball?!?!

I'm so glad I'm not a judge. I would spit on the faces of those parents and tell them to get out of my court.

it's not that simple. balls come off aluminum bats a lot faster than wooden bats. that's why they don't use aluminum bats in the big leagues...it's a safety issue that's been debated for awhile.

It is a sad situation but those parents need to stop being gay.

And the lawyer that said this:

Quote:
"People who have children in youth sports are excited about the lawsuit from a public policy standpoint because they hope it can make the sport safer," Fronzuto said after filing the suit Monday morning.
needs to get his ass beat with a bat. Yeah parents are excited. I hear the cheering now. ****ing idiot.

When you put your kid in sports you have to understand you're running the risk of injury whether they are using an aluminum or wooden bat.

What if the bat used was wood and the kid got hit in the head? Would they have sued then?

It's stupid how now a days you can pretty much sue anyone for anything. The saddest part is that even though they might not win this case, the bat manufacturer will more than likely settle it out of court which means the parents still get cash from them.

Sad sad world we live in...

In all but the highest levels of Little League the aluminum vs. wooden bat is a useless debate.
Kids under 16 or 17 do not throw hard enough to make a substantial difference in how hard a ball comes off an aluminum bat. This is nothing more than douche-bag parents trying to make some easy money. Millions of kids have been playing in LL games for decades and there is no epidemic of maimed or dead children.
I really hate all these assholes that are trying to make every aspect of society idiot and injury proof.
I played baseball from the time I was 5 years old all the way through high school and I never saw anyone seriously injured during a game.
The worst injury I had was when I was on the high school team pitching batting practice and I had a line drive come right back at me and I took it off the side of the head. It knocked me out for just a few seconds but I don't have any lasting affects other than I do laugh at PsyKo's un-funny jokes once in awhile.

His filing of this suit would indicate it already happened.

This part of the article on Fox News makes me want to see the lawyer and the family beaten within an inch of their lives.
Quote:
Although he was not playing in a Little League game, the organization is being sued because it gave its seal of approval to the bat, certifying it as safe for use by children, Fronzuto said.
WTF!!!!!111!! is wrong with these people.
Notice these scumbags are not suing the kid that actually hit the ball.
They're even taking a queue from all the gun lawsuits and suing Sports Authority because they sold the bat.

These fvckers need to DIAF.

I think there are laws in Europe where the losing party in a court case pays some sort of a fee. I don't know why we don't have it here. It'd at least keep the idiots out.

I played a lot of ball in my day. The bats today at not the bats of yesteryear. They are so light and can be swung so much harder making them very dangerous. You got a kid that can produce tremendous bat speed, give him a very light weight bat with technology designed to make the ball jump off of it, and 75-80 mph fast ball.....You got a lethal projectile. They should be banned, and all kids should be using wooden bats. Problem is these little pussy's can't swing them Like we did.... They are way too heavy

This is ridiculous. Like pretty much everyone has said here, this is nothing more than some idiots trying to make a quick buck. They should have understood what their son was involved in before they even allowed him to participate. ...Unbelievably retarded.
