A few interesting nuggets:
Quote:
Each class or course in comprehensive sex
education offered in any of grades K 6 through 12 shall
include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted
infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread
of HIV AIDS. Nothing in this Section prohibits instruction in
sanitation, hygiene or traditional courses in biology.

All (1) course material and instruction shall
be age and developmentally appropriate.

Who will make the call of what is appropriate? The same people who say it's OK for a child to skip the parents and talk to their counselor about getting contraceptive pills? The same people who say it's OK for a school to administer the day-after pill without having to get consent from parents? Thanks, but I'll pass.
Sure, the bill also says it's voluntary, but does it make it right to think a kindergartener should be receiving sex education as seen fit by the government? I just wish the media had been this "diligent" in shooting down Obama's lie about McCain's "5 million dollar is rich" remark.
