Question Is there a photoshop plugin that will do this...

I'm looking at making a photomontage/Photomosaic for a xmas gift this year. Some places want $$$$$$ to do it, but i have all the tools and most of the knowledge i need to do this myself. So i was curious if there is a photoshop plugin or some other software out there that will allow me to do this:

I have a ton of 'background' pics and a primary pic. Would be nice just to plug in the photos and let the software do it's thing.

Thanks for the help!

You might wanna check out Sassan's business card thread (a sticky in OT on supernissans) Someone one there used photomosaic tool to build an image of a 4th gen i believe.

I can't think of any tools for photoshop though.

I found this article: How-To: Make your own photo mosaics - Engadget and the software does work, but the quality isn't all that great from what i can see. I gotta play with it a bit more...

looks like all it does is it changes image transparency of whatever overlays your main image. Not really a mosaic afterall lol.

from what i'm reading, it may be possible with photoshop, but much easier and less time consuming if you just dl some sw that can do it. here's one that was mentioned: Easy Mosaic, best Photo Mosaic & Tile Mosaic software. Products 20-day free trial!
i've never attempted to make a mosaic montage before. good luck!

I'd suggest Andrea Mosaic. I'm assuming it's still free. It does everything you need and is not hard to use. I used it to create a mosaic a few years ago. I made a gigantic jpeg and then added a border and some other stuff in photoshop. After that I got the poster printed at dotphoto for around $17.

For all the options you have, you'll want to make sure you're pulling from as large a pool as possible.
