^^ I just got back from Austin a few hours ago. The track and the race were great. The event organizing could really use a LOT of work. I am completely worn out from walking probably 10 miles a day. It's a shame they couldn't have the drop off for the shuttle buses up near the entrance. That approx mile hike adds up when you're carrying camera gear and food.
If I go again, I'm gonna rent a huge motorhome, pack it with food and beer, and live at the track in the RV parking.

cool! didnt know you went too. my legs are shot as well from walking around the track, but i had a parking pass so i avoided ALOT of the headaches from the shuttle service. the track was awesome, but i was disappointed with the walk ways being unfinished, walking on dirt and rocks wasnt too fun. and i got burnt to a crisp while i was there. lol. after the race on sun, i was in the car and pulling out of the lot in 5 min from the gate. u need to def shell out for the pass next time. im thinking of going back for the V8 supercars race.
$200 for parking is absolute fuqqing robbery!!! That price wasn't announced until long after tickets went on sale. That track will be in trouble if they try to keep prices up that high. I hope this venue works out, but there's no need to gouge the fans, that's all I'm saying. I easily spent $2000 on flights, hotel, rental car, gas, food, etc. I love F1, but I just can't afford to go every year.
When I went to the USGP at Indy in 2006, tickets were about $45 a day, parking was $35 right next to the track. Food and drink was typical for a sporting event.
Yea, everything was over priced this w/e, from rooms to food/drinks, parking ect. The parking pass wasnt bad cuz we split it 4 ways. And after seeing the line JUST to park to wait for the shuttle, not counting the drive in the shuttle THEN the walk to the track, we all agreed it was a good call. Plus it allowed us to get "unsober" on the way to the race as well as during.
I did post it before, but last night I met the owner and he showed us everything on the car. Its pretty nuts to be honest. And you know i won't hesitate to say if something is crap, but I have give the guy credit. I was impressed
The compressor is for the air horn on the side. The thing even has functioning AC
