Tl2k2max- It's not too bad probably because it has no barrel and on top of having no barrel it has 3 ports on either side of the front sight which make it look awesome when shot at night. I have never shot a full sized .357 revovler so the only thing I have to compare it to is my dads .45 Colt which kicks like a mother and his .22 revolver which has no kick at all. I also have a .357 mag Derringer I will post some pics of if I can find it which I sure hope I can because its not a good feeling to know I misplaced a gun, I know it is somewhere in the house though, good thing I live alone I guess.

Added one to the collection, my new everyday concealment peice, Smith & Wesson M&P .40cal came with two 10 round clips. Was going to get a .45 but the.40 is smaller lighter and can hold 4 more rounds.

Nice, I "tried on" alot of guns yesterday to see what fit my hand best, Sig Saur, Glock, XDM, Bersa and the S&W just felt right it was balanced and the grip just fit my hand like a glove. The XDM and the Sig were too heavy not sure on there exact weights but heavier than the S&W and Glock, so then it was down to the Glock and S&W and the Glock just did not feel right in my hand the grip angle and contour were just not right, so the S&W came home with me. How hard is it to obtain a CC permit in NY? never really looked into myself but from what I have heard it is probably one of the hardest states to just own a gun let alone cary one, or is that just in the city?

Yea here in PA it takes is long as it takes to figure out which gun you want then about ten minutes more to fill some paper work out and while you are doing that they are calling in your background check then you pay and your out the door.

Well the counties mandate how easy or hard it is to get a permit. In Erie county it is very hard to get a permit. In NYC it is impossible (you actually have to write the police commissioner). In my county, I had to fill out an 8 page packet, get my picture taken, submit my fingerprints, pay $145 and wait 6 to 8 months. But I do have my CCW permit. In my country, they may issue two permits. One is a target and hunting permit and the other is an "unrestricted" permit. I have the unrestricted.

Damn here in PA I filled out one side of a paper that had a couple questions about if I was ever convicted of a felony offense and all the personal question name, dob, adress, ss# etc. Then they took my picture so they could put it on the permit paid a $6 processing fee then another $14 when I picked it up 2 weeks later. To hunt you have to either be 18 and purchase a hunting liscense or you can start when you are 12 and take a saftey course that you have to pass with at least a 90% and be accompanied by some 21 or older. You can buy a rifle when you are 18 and a handgun once you are 21, both require a backround check but once you buy it your free to shoot at the state game land shooting ranges or join a shooting club all without any kind of permit. With your CCW you can carry wherever you want except schools and government buildings, but at any establishment if the owner knows you are carrying they are allowed to ask you to leave the property and you have to thats only if they see it which I dont know how they would if you have it properly concealed. Can you buy a gun in NY without any kind of permit? and how does it work after you have a permit? I like to learn about these kinds of things just curious really.

Now not really on topic with pictures but more towards it, just got home from the range put 100 rounds through my new pistol and damn is that thing sweet not one hiccup and it was 23* outside. Right on target right out of the box hit the bullseye first shot at 25 yards and a nice tight 2-3 inch grouping with the rest. Going to have to go back to the gun shop and get more ammo while it is still $13 for a box of 40 S&W wich is dirt cheap!

At 18 you can buy a long gun without a permit. You can buy a hunting licence then as well. To purchase a pistol you MUST have a valid NYS Pistol permit. To purchase a pistol is QUITE the process. You must go pay for the pistol. The FFL will give you a receipt that HAS to be on their letterhead with their FFL number, the sellers name, the buyers name, the Serial number of the weapon, the make, model, and caliber, and the price. Then, the buyer must take that receipt BACK to the county where the permit was issued and show them (pay $3) and they type the weapon onto your permit. Then you go BACK to the FFL and show them the receipt that the county clerk gives you. Then you can take the firearm home...its a hassle.

I purchased my pistol from a FFL from 2.5 hours away from me. It sucked...bad.

Our laws about carrying are pretty close to the same. The only difference is that if a citizen sees our firearm and calls the police, you can be fined/arrested for "brandishing" a weapon.

Damn that is crazy, there is a silhouette clause where if a cop sees your weapon you can be given a fine but that is rarely done because we have an open carry law that lets you carry an unloaded weapon as long as it is fully visible. I will have to check out wally world then, but a box of 50 9mm is $9 but once the sale ends I will have to find another place to buy ammo that is cheap. I usually only shoot federal have had the best results with it, I also reload so once I get a decent amount of empty casings I will take a sat. or sun. sit down with a case of beer and start hammering out some new rounds. All I need is powder and primers, my dad just gave me a whole case of 1000 fmj .40 bullets, best dad ever!

I shoot Winchester White Box (115gr FMJ) for target ammo and Horady Critical Defense 115gr JHP for carry ammo.

Would you be interested in selling reloads?! lol.

NY has NO open carry. The only place you can legally open carry is your OWN place of residence. Other than that, CCW 100% of the time.
