my car was vandalized a few months ago, had it parked right in front of my door, and i have a fence around my entire house. they keyed the entire front half of my car as well as the rear door on one side, along with ripping off my splash guards. this was a major violation of my property and i was really pissed. bought the shotgun the next day. plus i live in TX, where the right to bear arms is strongly encouraged, making for pretty loose laws n easy access to guns.

nice guns! liking the laser on the 9mm, i havent got around to that yet, those are pricey. and the mosin is nice also, have u put alot of rounds through it?
I don't have anything yet but I think my first gun will be the XDM 9mm. There are so many good reviews for that gun. I thought about getting the .40 cal but I like the idea of being able to carry 20 rounds. I'd also like to get a 1911.
This one's a custom 1911 from Wilson Combat. It's about 2 grand. I probably won't be getting that one.

tl2k2max, how much did you pay for your XDM?
you can get a 16+1 mag for the .40 cal XDM, not much difference from 20 clip and a hell of a lot more knock down power. they are great guns, like the reviews say, and i cant remember exactly how much it was but ur looking at anywhere from high $300s to over $500 depending on which one you want. i would check out cheaperthandirt.com, they seem to have pretty low prices.
1943 Mosin Nagant like pictured above. Love this gun. I've put an entire can of surplus ammo through it and can hit a dime at 100 yards. I don't have that scope though, I have a variable NStar on it.
Rock Island Armory 1911 .45. My true baby. It spends most of its cold time in my nightstand. l3admonkey should consider one of these. I've fired a Colt right beside it and can't really tell a difference. And it runs about $350, not $1,000+.
Unknown brand/model pump action shotgun. My dad gave me this when I moved to New Orleans for a bit when I couldn't afford a pistol, and it came handy a few times. I keep 3 shells in it at all times: first is birdshot, 2nd is buckshot, 3rd is a slug.
.22 Ithaca lever action. Best varmint rifle ever. And I can look like John Wayne when I shoot it.
My gf has a 9mm S&W that her dad bought her for 'protection'. I've been thinking about replacing it with a .38 or .45. 9's do not offer the stopping power that I'm comfortable with.

wow, thats some accuracy on that mosin.
i keep mine 12 gauge loaded also with diff rounds. first 2 are 00 bucks and the last 3 are slugs. then i have 5 more in the shot shell holder.
if ur gf can handle the kick from the bigger caliber, id say go for it. im right with you on the 9mm, i just dont think its enough.
as for the 1911, i keep hearing good things about it, but havent seen or shot one my self. im going to look for it the next time i go to a gun shop.
so u said the shotty came in handy.. care to elaborate??
While a dime is probably exaggerating, I've always been extremely accurate when firing a rifle. A golf ball would be a more accurate size (and what I've used for target practice a couple of times)

Next time I head to the range, she and my .45 are coming with me along with my buddy's .38. We'll see if she can handle either. My cousin is a cop and he tells me story after story of people walking through a 9mm shot. I don't see my gf being controlled enough to take an accurate shot in an attack to make the 9 effective.

I figured all the good things I had heard about the rock island's were untrue/sales pitches. My local indoor range had one so I took it for a stroll and fell in love with it.

I don't mind. A little wanna be thug got into my apartment while I was away. I came in on him rummaging through my bedroom. I grabbed the shotgun hidden in the hallway closet and met him at the door. I put the barrel to his nose until the cops got there.
I would have had the same outcome in that situation armless, but had he had a gun (or even a knife), things would have ended badly. I've learned that every time I go into New Orleans, I have my pistol. It's not near as bad now as it was pre-Katrina when I lived there.
I get jealous everytime i see threads like this.
In NYC all of that is illigal. According to NYC law even bb guns are concidered lethal weapons just lik real guns do so you get the same amount of years/probation/fine (depends on a lot of stuff) for pump or co2 bb as you do for real AK-47.

your telling me.. its not nearly as bad b/c all the morons moved to texas after katrina. now its worse here than before.

im assuming ur referring to if u use the bb gun in some kind of crime right? they would charge you like u had a real gun? i think thats the same everywhere.. i have family in NY that want guns too, but say its hard to get one.

I'll have to look into that. I just watched a video on youtube about it and the guy there said the same thing. Cheap, in comparison to other 1911s and shoots well.
