My son wanted to rent a movie the other day, and my wife and I started to think about some of the funnier movies that we saw back in the day.
The two movies that immediately came to mind for us were
Better Off Dead and
Ruthless People.
Both of those movies are freak'n hilarious, and if anyone here hasn't seen either of them, do yourselves a favor and go rent them.
You will not be disappointed.
Also, maybe someone here should start a thread where people can post their favorite scenes from movies.
Two of my absolute favorites are:
1. In a movie called The
Unforgiven, which stars
Clint Eastwood,
Morgan Freemon,
Gene Hackman, and a host of other great actors/actresses, there is a scene towards the end of that movie were Eastwwod's character (William Money) goes into a bar and absolutely cleans house.
2. I love the scene in the movie
The Dark Knight where Batman's butler is trying to explain the Joker's mentality to him, telling him that some people really have no rhyme or reason, and just want to see the world burn.
PS: Here is a trailer for a movie called
The Thirteenth Day.
The movie is based on a true story and surrounds events that happened in
Fatima when the
Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to some children to bring them a message.
It didn't get much attention and pub from Hollywood execs, because I suppose it doesn't have enough fiction, sex and violence in it, but it still did very well.
I still haven't seen it myself though, because it was only being played at limited places and at limited times due to financial issues, but the trailer is still one of my absolute favorites.
I still plan on buying the DVD of this movie some time in the not so distant future, if I can find it in a video store and don't have to buy it on-line.
