With the Genesis putting out 333lb-ft, I wouldn't shy away from a race with you from a dig

Really? what's wrong with it? Isn't it sourced from ZF?

From what I have heard about the 8sp is that they get whine around a few thousand miles, burn and bubble the trans fluid and then KA BOOM!!! Most of the guys want the ZF 6 Speed back...like I have .

I don't know if it is sourced from the ZF or not

I think the 8-speed is a in-house job.

That ZF is what you want dude. From what I've read they're rock fvckin solid.

Also, IMHO you don't need more than 6-7 gears (a few short ones for accel and one or two tall ones for highway). After that you're sneaking towards CVT with all the gears (too many ratios).

Sent possibly from the shitter on my HTC EVO, bizneeaatch...

^^ I would tend to agree with this. They were trying to make 30MPG with the 4.6...hence all the gears. Didn't quite work ha

I haven't really "heard" the 4.6 Tau V8 yet - they're all so quiet. If you do any I/H/E mods get some vids...

ZF transmissions are awesome.

I agree with the gears thing with the one exception of the IS-F. Somehow they got that juuuuust right.

^Thanks man - interwebz search lazyness today

Hyundai should have stuck with the ZF; they made the 8 speed in the IS-F - no?

IS-F is Lexus in-house. Probably the only automaker I'd trust to do that.
