Really? When you have your location settings enabled, GPS it is constantly checking in with the satellites to verify your location, killing your battery even if the phone is in "standby"
I should've clarified that a bit more. I had GPS and Wifi both off. Location settings were enabled only for the "Use wireless networks" and "Location and Google search" options. The "Use GPS Satellites" setting was disabled.
The battery drained ~50% in 3-4 hours. Whatever it was doing was power hungry lol.
^ A factory reset will work wonders for battery life. I was going through the entire battery in about 9 hours. Did a factory reset and I now get 20 to 25 hours out of it.
Also, GS3's not rooted are running ICS 4.0.1. Funny story is that JB (4.1.1) is a quicker OS that uses less battery...if it ever comes out
what brightness or timeout settings do you guys have?? I set my s2 to about 65-75% brightness, have it timeout with 30 seconds to a minute max and my battery still only lasts about 8-9 hours. I usually have to charge it at least twice a day and I don't even listen to the radio or watch streaming movies from netflix.

100% brightness. Auto adjusted for my environment. Bluetooth on 100% of the time. Wifi on 100% of the time. Roughly 500 text messages every day and sparratic web browsing over wifi.
and it made the phone feel and look so much better. The phone by itself was so slippery. Just adjust your brightness setting to auto and you can even turn the power saver option on for more juice.
