I should've clarified that a bit more. I had GPS and Wifi both off. Location settings were enabled only for the "Use wireless networks" and "Location and Google search" options. The "Use GPS Satellites" setting was disabled.

The battery drained ~50% in 3-4 hours. Whatever it was doing was power hungry lol.

^ A factory reset will work wonders for battery life. I was going through the entire battery in about 9 hours. Did a factory reset and I now get 20 to 25 hours out of it.

Also, GS3's not rooted are running ICS 4.0.1. Funny story is that JB (4.1.1) is a quicker OS that uses less battery...if it ever comes out

Don't know if this is accurate or not, but supposedly Asphalt 7 is free for all Galaxy S3 Owners through the Samsung App Store.

Asphalt 7 Available for FREE only to Samsung Galaxy S III users | Josephws'sBlog | YouMobile

Thanks. I just got around to checking it out and it doesn't show up in the Samsung Apps "store" on mine either. Would've been nice though.

what brightness or timeout settings do you guys have?? I set my s2 to about 65-75% brightness, have it timeout with 30 seconds to a minute max and my battery still only lasts about 8-9 hours. I usually have to charge it at least twice a day and I don't even listen to the radio or watch streaming movies from netflix.

100% brightness. Auto adjusted for my environment. Bluetooth on 100% of the time. Wifi on 100% of the time. Roughly 500 text messages every day and sparratic web browsing over wifi.

I am VERY impressed with this battery so far.

I was tempted to get those extended batteries with the bulkier battery door, but I like the protective shock protection case for my S2 instead

The extded battery would ruin the look of the SGS3 IMHO.
I got this case
Diztronic Diztronic
and it made the phone feel and look so much better. The phone by itself was so slippery. Just adjust your brightness setting to auto and you can even turn the power saver option on for more juice.

If you have an S3 and are getting terrible battery life...factory reset is the way to go.

I got this case Black Hard Back Stand Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy S3 SIII I9300 | eBay and couldn't be happier. Shipping was fast. Phone feels nice and the kickstand works well for watching videos

My thoughts exactly. No reason to root yet...unless JB never freaking drops. I am not a fan of ICS at all
