In my opinion sprint wiimax was pretty decent where I lived, I should've bought a 4g phone instead of upgrading to this LTE galaxy, cuz now it feels like I'm using my Motorola Q from the old days (that's 2008 for you non techies).

I still have the original Galaxy S, which I bought when my old Hero (which worked great) lost its internal speaker and I couldn't hear anyone one the other end.
The SGS has also been mostly problem free except for the occasional lockup when using the camera. The biggest gripe I've had is people not receiving my texts, especially picture texts intermittently. CSpire remotely reset the phone and it's been fine for a month but then did it again a few times.
I'm starting to wonder if it's a carrier issue....my brother's replacing his Droid X2 w/the SG3 soon I think....
I'm not bashing Nokia quality. I actually think the hardware is solid. Their choice for OS could not have been worse. IMHO, if they went back to the old windows OS that came on the palm treo back in the day it would be a better OS. WinMo is a goddamn joke and will be forever.
Which windows phone did you have? If you haven't used it extensively, the comment holds less weight than any other apple or android fanboi comment. Critics are wowed by it but the average person doesn't want to do their thinking for themselves so they buy what everyone else does
That old wm os was great for its time, but so was the VHS tape. WP7 architecture is much better and wp8 is even more so.
The problem with it is that most people think they know what they have is best.
With it becoming the easiest to develop for, the sky is wide open.
With windows 8 coming out and it/wp8/tablets/xbl sharing the same blood line, development of apps is a no brainer. Develop for 1 and you've got an app for all of them.
Its convincing folks that think its a joke that its actually the best of both worlds is their biggest hurdle, but that is slowly changing.
Very slowly! The problem is, there is no love for WP phones. That includes a lack of any devs making apps for that shitty platform. I had one of the first WP phones when they came out with them on AT&T and it didn't last a week before I took it back and got the much more extensive android.
IMHO, android is easier to dev, easier to operate, easier to secure, and MUCH faster in the OS (depending on the OS version).
Which tablets are running WP8? IIRC the only tablet microsoft will have will be the Surface...which I am getting because it's NOT running shitty WP7 or WP8...it's running full blown Windows 8. I like Microsoft for its full OS, just like I like apple for it's full size OS. Its in the mobile department where they seem to hire the retards.
IMHO, Apple and android will stand alone in the very near future as the only two OS's available. RIM already crashed and burned. HP Mobile crashed and burned. Now I'm waiting for WP...it will happen. Mark my words.
Also, just a side note. I can run WP OS on my Android phone. "Oh wait, you mean Android can run other OS's and put them out of business?!"
So you had a first release phone that is hardly like anything on the market now.
Where is a windows phone rom for Android? The only one I've seen is quick panel which isnt wp based. Its Android running a wp-esque theme that lacks all functionality. That's like saying miui is an iOS rom.
Android is now the most difficult os to develop for and also was the least developed for this year. I think its lack of a good tablet UI that is killing them, but hard to tell.
What os was most developed for? Wp7. And that will only increase with the new kernel shared with windows 8 and xbl. They allow native language coding where android would have to be overhauled from the ground up to support. Apps developed for your tablet/pc will also be developed for wp8. That's not including the synchronization involved between the platforms.
I'll mark your words, and I'll remember a hefty told you so too
My last comments on this topic. Nokia Lumia 900 has had less than 600k units shipped. Apple iFag 4s had over 10 million and the Samsung GSIII had over 10 million as well. End of the road WP7
Not sure where you get your numbers but the lumia shipped 7 million just in the first 2 quarters. Paling in comparison to the others yes, but if we're going to quote numbers, let's quote correct or semi correct ones.
I'm sorry. That was US numbers only. My fault, I though I put my qualifier in that post.
Where is that qualifier for the other claims?
The only numbers I've seen is the S III shipped 10m globally by July and 20m globally by the end of last month. A lot of this is probably due to Apple's lawsuit. I don't know how many people I've sold an early upgrade to just so they could get the phone before Apple attempted to ban the sale of it.
Yes it is selling better than the Lumia (which was in no way a bad selling phone, it was in AT&T's top 3 selling for a few months).
This reminds me of those people who don't like Hyundai cars because they don't know how good of a car they really are, even if their sales figures are comparatively low (holding similar market share in cars as WP has in mobile OS). Market share doesn't represent product performance/reliability/durability/etc.
