Is this going to be another battle like Apple vs Android?! Lol.
Truth is, can't afford an Intel right now. But, in the future, it's easy to change a CPU out
Haha. I do prefer Intel, but AMD is a valid option. I just can't stand their A4's or the super slow CPUs that they put in lower end laptops.
Haha yeah and I have 3 more LED fans that aren't visible in that pic. I had to take 2 others out of it also since the ground wire pulled out and they started smelling strange... almost like an electrical fire but not quite. I definitely won't be buying any cheap fans anymore - if the positive had pulled out and shorted then I would have been pretty disappointed.
During black Friday, my local computer store Microcenter actually had better deals than Newegg's deals. With the combos I had a processor + motherboard for ~$170 at MC vs the [EXACT] same items at Newegg for $240. The video card I was going to get (660GTX) was also cheaper at MC vs Newegg for the same item. I have the luxury of having Microcenter located 3 miles from my home (although I never go there).
I always thought that the online vendors were cheaper vs brick and mortar but when I was shopping, it was cheaper at my local shop even after taxes (MC has gotten rather competitive ). It doesn't hurt to shop around unless you're fed up with all the research by now lol. I know I always am after looking at the new hardware.
My eyes are getting tired. But I am going to visit the local brick and mortar nerd mecca today and see what they can do. Plus, I need new thermal paste lol
Quick one. Anyone know a good wireless card? I Have my router in the basement and this PC is going to be on the 2nd level of my house....
Would you be looking at a Wireless AC or N band? Also PCI, PCI x1, or USB for an interface?

I love how they price match Newegg too. I was actually able to get my CPU and a new mobo as a Combo for less than Newegg would have gotten me with a lower model board. The only down side is that they're over an hour away. Since they're still fairly close, if I find a good deal on something at MC that Best Buy also carries, I go to my local Best Buy and just get them to price match it. Usually they're willing to unless it's an insane deal.
ive built a few for myself, just recently did another one. Ill text you a little later about

Nismo...IDC which slot it occupies. And whichever you think it better. I am mostly clueless when it comes to wireless cards lol
Andrew: Hit me up!
I'll look some up in a little bit. Was trying to search newegg on my phone but it gets tough remembering what tab is what lol.
I'm guessing your home router is probably wireless N since AC is still pretty new out. If that's the case, then wireless N will be the better fit (more readily available and cheaper) and having an AC card wouldn't be much faster.
EDIT: What are you doing for a DVD drive? Don't recall seeing it mentioned in previous posts.
