OP; Now that kind of racism isn't cool. But on the acts of being racist in a comedic way is funny as shit to me. My close friends are mixture of different nationalities and we're always cappin' on each other when it comes to bs'n lol.
I've had a few guys I've met playing pool make some racist remarks and they were actually being racist and not trying to be funny. But the fact that I grew up being racist amongst my friends, it has set that racial boundary for me to where such comments I would be immune to. So I wasn't offended at all and was racist towards myself lol.

I hate being associated with those people. As Chris Rock said, I love black people, but i HATE NIGGAZ!
I remember back when my GF and I used to go out to clubs and bars alot back in the day, and ghetto ass black girls would give her dirty looks because she's a white red head with a talk dark and handsome black man (Yeah, i said it!) and some of them would say shit to their friends loud enough for us to hear, and it was usually the typical "why is he with that white girl" or "why are all the good black men dating white girls" blah blah blah. I recall one time it kinda pissed me off, and and i turned around and asked the girl one simple question. I asked her "what does it matter that I'm with her? Do you think if I wasn't with her I would somehow be with you?" Then she gave me an attitude and I told her I don't deal with ghetto bitches and walked away

Lol as long as humans exist, racism will exist. What we can do, however, is educate people and pursue a culture that discourages it. I think, at least in the U.S. and Canada, we've done a pretty good job changing things from the 60s. The end of institutional/official racism was an invaluable step to the betterment of society. But, to say there is none, is just silly.
Racism is everywhere. People will be racist. We can fight it, and we have fought a lot of it, but it will always be around.
As for "you people"; I hear ya. My university is in a poorer, more rural area (outside of the more diverse and educated Northern Virginia), and sure enough, sometimes when I leave campus, I get weird looks from locals for dating someone who isn't my race. Some dumb redneck with his a giant Confederate flag decal on his pickup truck shouted "****in' Arab Terrorist!" to me the other day at a grocery store parking lot. They're just not informed and their culture promotes a complete lack of self-awareness or societal awareness. So, yes, racism is still around. It's certainly improved, but there's still a ways to go to get to (what I think) it should be. As long as humans exist, however, there will always be some. There'll always be intolerance, one way or another. For good reason or not for good reason.
Sadly, racism will never go away. We can reduce it through education, but these things, along with stereotypes, blind assumptions, ignorance, and discrimination, will continue to exist. What's even more sad is that these things are the core values of war and violence.

^ that's very true. It all comes down to how you were brought up. Over time you learn to become thick skinned.
I always hate it when people generalize about your race and assume they're "your people". Like when there's an incident with asians and they all assume you're like "those people", they don't realize there are different kinds of asians.

Good for you for volunteering! I grew up in a dominantly black area and it goes both ways for ignorant people. It's just the way it is . It pisses me off but you can't fight everyone as I learned as a kid.
It does indeed work both ways.
While I did see racism & racist jokes, etc while I was growing up, I have to admit as a white person, that Iv'e seen it the other way around 1,000 fold.
I come from a construction/warehousing background, and many times, Iv'e been treated like I'm some kind of "well to do white boy" and had blacks wonder why I was there working, because they just assumed because I was white, that I was wealthy and didn't need to work for a living.
I've also worked in black neighborhoods before or stopped off a highway to get gas in a black neighborhood and ran into hassles quickly.
I was told by several blacks one time while I was just stopping for gas, "You better get the **** out of here white boy".
And when Iv'e worked in black neighborhoods, I was accused by many blacks as being "5-0" and that I was there to arrest someone, and even had some black chick come walking up to me and she grabbed her crotch, then spit on the ground, and then told me "I f**king hate white people", even though I wasn't doing a damn thing but minding my own business and working.
And I still remember one time when I was on a roofing job in a black neighborhood, and when i walked in front of the house, there were several black guys standing there, and they told me that I was lucky to have the job I had, and had it only because I was white.
I then told them that we were hiring and if any of them wanted a job that I'd hook them up, and one of them asked me how much it paid.
I told him that He'd start at 10.00 an hour and if he picked things up quickly He'd get more, to which he replied, "I need at-least 15.00 an hour".
I asked him if he had any experience which he didn't, but said the work looked too hard to only start at 10.00 an hour.
By the way, that's exactly what I was making at the time.
And the only other thing I wanted to point out to show exactly how two sided this really is. In my lifetime, I could probably count on one hand how many times Iv'e heard a white person use the word racist, but I couldn't even keep track of how many times Iv'e heard that word come out of a black person's mouth.
I wish these lines didn't exist, but the cold-hard truth is, they do and always will.

You know what those same people should learn is that if they want to group everyone into one group like that, then all white people are terrorists and murderers as well.
i get ignorant racism plenty of times, its mostly while waiting in line and its always the (stereotyping here) old caucasian female. me being chinese, there are many types of dialects in that nature. primarily mandarin and cantonese, but other minor dialects. they always dont bother asking, once they turn around and see me, they automatically say 'hello' in mandarin and then nothing else. i am cantonese dialect strong and barely know mandarin and im like wtf?!?. i understand 'hello' in mandarin, but i just hate when they assume i know that dialect. we live in america, cant u just say 'hello' in english like any normal person would? it feels like they always have something to prove like they know the language. makes me want to punch them, but thatll prove nothing
interesting topic to find.
racism will always be here. America was settled on racism when you think about it. from living in the south and now in the north, it's all the same, just done differently. man, i remember when i moved to where i'm at now and my wife and i was visiting to one of my neighbor's church for a little. (we're black, they're white) it was ok and the people were "super nice" but what hurt the experience was when my neighbor was sitting behind us, and the guy asked him, "why are they here". REALLY?!? WHAT OTHER REASON?!?! (in my head) my neighbor handled it smoothly but they didn't think i heard it though. that was the last time we were there though, but we plan to visit. (but that wasn't the ultimate reason why we didn't continue going there.
