considering engine swap

i was given a 1989 Pulsar Nx. it has 177,000 miles. i want to drop a bigger, more powerful, faster engine. i was wondering if anyone had any engine suggestions. of course i would get a matching transmission. can you give me an estimate of how much everything would cost including adapting the car?

You probably have a CA engine in there right? The best thing to do would be to find a CA18DET for it. The CA engines were made for these cars so switching to a turbo CA18DE won't be a massive overhaul. If you're in the US though you'll have to import the engine since Nissan never offered a turbo version of the late 80s Pulsar. The CA18DET is the best choice for this car although an SR20DET can be put in as well but requires much more work. There's a site of people who have already done these swaps if you want any info or help on it. I can't post links here so go to nissanexa dot com.
