boost limit

hey guys. i got a query. my car runs fine up to 8psi then once it hits 8psi the turbo starts to stutter and doesnt really do much. it seems like there isnt any fuel getting to it so i first thought it was fuel pump problem but then i was told that standard ecu's on r33's have a boost limit on it.... is this true?

Nope! On a stock ECU I ran mine at 1.5 bar! (1.5 bar = 21.7557 psi)

install an inline fuel pressure gauge and see if its falling off. a lot of things can affect boost. plug gaps, fuel pressure, compression - to name a few.
have you checked compression?
i have low compression on one cylinder in my sr and it will boost fine till about 12psi then it stutters badly.
