It's been a while since i've been here,but it's good to be back. I'm driving back from Sylvan lake towards Edmonton on highway 2 on Saturday evening.(with my wife and mother inlaw), when i see a new red Mazda RX-8 (pretty sure a H.O. model)weaving through traffic,going like a bat outta hell. He slows down next to me (don't know why, i'm in a 4 door sedan) and looks over. He then takes off , so i follow, passing eachother a few times. We then come to a stretch of highway that's clear of traffic,so he let's her go. He get's a 3-4 length start on me, but i'm s l o w l y comin up on him, (A.C. on and 3 people in the car) at about 225km/h. I can tell that the speed limiter is kickin in(crap) but i had to shut it down, because my wife and her mother were getting really scared. I caught up to this guy as we were coming into Edmonton, hopeing i could get him at a red light, but no dice. He just gave me the thumbs up and turned off. Any one know the top speed of a RX-8. I thought he would kill me but i could tell he was surprised that a family sedan gave him a good run. By the way, I'm pretty much stock with auto).I gotta get some mods dammit!
Dude first of all from experience RX 8's are not exactly a ferrari. In other words I believe the standard in this scenario is in our favor.
And next time just do what I do and dont pay attention to your mom and wife, after a while they will just accept the fact that men need to race LOL, especially men with the almighty 3.5. I have no doubts you would beat him, unless (a) he is modded or (b) your on a windey road. Their handeling is supposed to be suppior. Nice run, and hopefully we'll see you more often brotha.

u guys have speed limiters?...that sucks hahahaha. i never race or play catch up with anyone in the car..i never want to be responsible if something happens...but if u must u mind as well finish the job and atleast turn the a/c off....it doesn't seem like the rx-8 was tryin because at that speed they could of left u
Are you saying that an rx-8 can take our 3.5 for a walk. I dont think so, I have ran along side of them and was not impressed and from previous posts I have read that they are not as fast but their strengths lie in handeling.
Oh and Geez, you got some issues with "Noobs" if you dont want to do anything dangerous and race someone what do you base your oppinion on? Just wonderin?

Race it from a stop and its murder cause of the powerband and wheelhop but from a roll theyre faster but still easy for any 3.5.... without the ac on and family in the car.
u retard...learn to read...i dont race with passengers...not i dont race PERIOD...even if i dont race..what's that gotta do with our noob issues? i have to race to have knowledge?..and the rx-8 should of walked it BECAUSE he had the a/c on with 3 passengers...dude

even an unmodded 3.5 could beat the rx- 8, there suppost to have all this hype (ohh the next rx-7 replacement) My friend has there not all there ment to be there not very fast and the things weight alot for suppost to be sports car, I bet if you tried to run against him you would dust him.
When I was at the track the other night there was a rx-8 running and the best it could do was low 16's. A stock auto can wax that. That's freakin hilarious about your fam in the car...I'm suprised your arm isn't blue from your wife beating you telling you to stop.

I stand corrected on the part about you not racing and to keep this thread from going of track I will say, you are the retard, you are an instigating prick with an inflated ego and you can kiss my ass.
