Coming into work, hit the local Taco Cabana for the munchies, steak fajitas>cottonmouth, took the access road in San Marcos to the next light, when I spot my co-workers Green 1996 200SX SER behind a car in the next lane at the light.(this is the same SER I was going to buy off the kid for 1500 until he ****ing backed out a few months ago.)
The SER has a header, cone intake, stock exhuast, new clutch,16" wheels/tires.Anywho the light turns green and there is no traffic seen ahead of me/him.He waits for the car in front to turn off and he quickly catches up to me as I slide into the left lane.I shift into third gear and turn off the CD,a smile creeps onto my face....
I hear him downshift and punch it as I he is at my back door,I ease the pedal to the floor as my speedo apraoches 55mph.He is starting to pull at 65mph and now has me at his door.At 75mph I am starting to fall back up to his rear,
I glance at my tach,4000rpms whizz by and the KA starts screaming as I hit 80mph and start to reel him back in QUICKLY, I am creeping along side him as
we hit 90mph,at 95mph we are even.
I glance again at the tach, damnit 6K,shift to 4th,he pulls ahead by inches,KA hits its sweet spot again and I pull along @ 100 and ahead,he his at my back door.BY 105mph we are even again,Suddenly we both spot a car in his lane ahead,we both shut down immediately, take the next left and call it even in the parking lot.
I beleive he still has the factory speed limiter on his motor, which I beleive is 109mph on those SR's...
Now I really dont beleive I got 127whp on that dyno.
i wondered what happened about the 200SX man...sorry to hear he backed out theyre sweet little cars.
and you did just get a tune up right? i just change the plugs on mine (way overdue!) and i cant tell you how much of a difference it made. i have a small oil leak too (front crank seal...) and im gonna have to take care of that soon.
good run though...you should check mine out about me racing my buddies New Yorker LOL now thats a laugh...
^yeah,just got a full tune up,plugs/wires/thottle body/fuel filter/B&G FI Cleaner,etc..
I am waiting on the Austin Nissan dyno day to pop up,runs are supposed to
be only 40 bucks.Should come around next week or so...
Unfortunately I noticed yesterday that my CV boot on the front driver side just blew,so my next moneys will be going to new struts, mounts,cv boots, and a set of H&R springs, possibly by the end of April.Trying to gather parts needed now.

I hate when stuff breaks then your money has to go to fix that stuff instead of mods.
^Well the KA is fully paid for,and at my mileage,I expect stuff to break,so its not a
problem really...
So far since car is paid off,I have dumped abour $1100 in new clutch and tune up
cost.Supsension upgrades/repairs will run me about a grand, not to mention I need new tires right now, another $560 bucks.Oh,and I need to get my piping redone, another $100 or so.
I expect the starter or alternator to be next up on the list..
Oh,and the SR has 111k on it,so it was pretty even motor life wise.

I just bought a new CV joint from Autozone, cost me $110, but you get like $50 back for the core charge.

H&Rs? i thought you loved the sprints? LOL good choice though, H&Rs are awesome springs...
and i would just change the whole CV joint...personally.
myself, i have an oil leak from the front crank seal (behind the crank pulley) so i gotta get that fixed. 104K on the clock, i expected it sooner or later LOL

Are you serious?????? I always wondered what happened to that creep. Anywho, dead even huh, good run nonetheless.......
^Yeah,I hardly talk to him anymore...but he did tell me he was about to hit his
speed limiter,he hasnt changed out the ECU with a G20 ECU to get rid of that
limiter yet.
I love the Sprints soc_monki,but I want something a bit more sportier feeling.

damn have fun fixing those boots... for such a little part it has to be the most annoying thing to change besides the PCV valve on a first gen of course.

well the H/Rs are just that...very sporty and handling is superb. drop isnt near as much as Sprints and im sure you know that
pair them with some Tokicos and youll be in heaven, believe me! i love my Ground Controls, but at times do really miss my H/Rs! i want D2s though, and that will be a while... i wish H/R made coilover kits for us...

the axles arent hard to replace. if you have the right tools, it can be done within an hour

axle is easy to replace...specially if you got the whole axle(passenger side). I just recently changed the boot with a friend. Basically all you gotta do is take off the wheel, the 36mm or 37mm(i forget) nut holding the axle to the wheel hub, then the 2 bolts connecting the strut to the wheel hub, allowing the wheel hub to move. Then theres 3 bolts on the other end of the axle near the tranny, take those out, and then pull the axle from the wheel hub. Ask decoy, he told me how to change my boot.
