^ My point exactly. Why would he try me a second time? To watch my car try to beat his? That's ludicrous! I and my wife were there and he and a friend of his were there. He intentionally egged me on a second time, and I beat him. I don't lie and neither does the fact that I'm a very good driver and know my car. The mods I've got are as follows: WAI, no crimp or resonator, and free flow mufflers. I don't even know the brand of mufflers. My muffler shop guy put 'em on for me and said they were cheap (they were used and had no brand on them), and would sound good; which they were and do. If you'll read back quite a ways, I also beat a Charger RT about 11 months ago and nobody believed that one either. You guys think I'm gonna post this stuff just so you'll be able to call me a liar. We all agree that there are a lot of variables involved in any race. Check out the old IROC for example. All Z28s were equally prepared, and they all did not cross the finish line together. There was one winner and a bunch of losers. Hopefully, point made! Oh yeah, I almost forgot; a few days before my Mustang run, I also beat two different Infiniti FX 35s. I know that they are heavy and slower, but they wanted to be beaten, so I obliged them.

you can bench race all day the proof is in the pudding , a win is a win . i road raced a charger rt and beat him , i didnt destroy him but he couldnt catch me through the turns and straights. by the way was the stang convertable?
^ No, it was a coupe. Gotta say that Ford actually did a good retro look on the Stang. the Thunderbird they did a few years back was a trainwreck-looks-wise! Oh yeah, I think the convertible is somewhat heavier than the coupe because of additional structural ridgitity members, etc. I realize the guy may just have been a goober that didn't know how to drive, but like you said" a win is a win!" And he came back for a second portion of "loser".
oh i have seen them run. ive seen them run with good drivers driving them. probably just a bad driver in the mustang. and by doing my homework, does that mean i should be reading more of car & driver, motor trend, and road & track? cuz thats obviously what you have been doing in your spare time...
I'll state what my experiences have been "at the track" against the new Mustangs....Pretty close fom a launch until the top of second, then the GT starts to pull. By the end of the quarter, they have at least a two car advantage. He ran a 13.7 to my 14.3.
Next run I had an awesome RT and jumped out ahead. I was looking in my side mirror waiting for him to catch up, but I knew something went wrong for him when I maintained a two car advantage to the end.
He told me he missed second but was very impressed with how he was unable to make up the lost ground to the Alti.
Like someone said, anything can happen in a street race, so good kill :-).
First thought that came to my head was something must be wrong with the Mustang (wow, imagine that).
I know froedrick isnt lying, I've seen him on this site for some time and he's got no reason to lie. He's 62 for christ sakes, not a 16 year old high school kid looking for attention.
I agree the stang should have won, but thats not what happened.
Well, I think the bashing should just stop. It was a street race and YES, anything can happen on the street. People are like "Ohhhh NO WAY that car pulls 13 seconds in the 1/4 mile according to road and track". Sure its a potentially a mid 13 second car, but what about the driver? I always have a old saying:
"Sure you have a 13 second car, but your a 15 second driver". I think that should sum it all up.
The driver in the mustang maybe was in the wrong gear because he doesn't know his car well, where "Froedrick" knows his power band and shift points very well. Nonetheless, he won fair and square regardless of anything. 2007 Mustang is very fast with the right driver of course.
my mom has a 07 manual Mustang GT and there is no way in hell you beat him, and if you did, he was not going all out. that is all I will say.
will you actually read the thread and answer my question? why would he not be going all out?

totally agree with you. the first time i went to the track, i ran a 11.2 in the 1/8th mile . by the end of the night, i was running 9.4's and 9.5's. you just have to get to know your car

There is no way in hell that a 2007 Mustang GT can be beat by an Altima and if the Altima did win the Mustang wasn't trying? Well that is what YOU have to say and I think you should stop saying anything.
So your saying that if the Mustang misses a gear or even TWO, the Altima wouldn't win? So your saying if the mustang punched it in the wrong gear (Not in the power band or PEAK power band), the Altima wouldn't win? So your saying that if the Mustang bogged his start then was spinning off the line, the Altima wouldn't win? Like I said earlier, ANYTHING can happen on the street and not all drivers that drive Mustangs are professional drivers
I've said time and time again there is no such thing as equal drivers. Froedrick simply outclassed him on those two runs. And because of that all the bench/mag racing whiners come out calling foul. Any idiot knows that on paper the GT wins by many, many car lengths. He won, stang lost. Good Kill.

or, the Mustang has way more power than the Altima and the guy in the Mustang babied it out of first. I can spin the GT tires barely touching the gas pedal.
