So a buddy of mine called me out in the Trailblazer, he wanted to test his 03 6spd vert 350z with longtubes headers, exhaust, intake and intake plenum spacer, This is all I believe he has aside from his 75 shot nitrous kit but it wasnt used since he wants to tune the car for the spray first. I had a passenger which was recording (will get the videos from him tomorrow), he was alone in the 350z. All 4 runs were from 15-20mph since he didnt want to do digs. I pulled on him on all the runs except one that he took off on the second honk and let off before I passed him. He said he wanted a rematch after his tune on spray, I said, "no problem but it will be from a dig".

Sort of. The base model non-supercharged 2002-2006 had CVTs.
The 2002-2006 S-model (supercharged) has always had an Aisin-Warner 6-speed automatic.
Starting with model year 2007 both the base and S (now turbocharged; the hood scoop is non-functional) now come with 6-speed autos both because the CVTs had a high failure rate and because BMW was not happy with the performance. The 1.6 paired to that tranny was quite anemic. This is the reason my wife opted for the S and not the base, we did not want to sit on a ticking time bomb.
