The accord is not hiding anything(there is nothing to hide). No mods are out yet for the new accord unless you had a custom exhaust done which dexion said he didnt have. It runs 14.0-14.2 @101-102MPH just like the altimas can(accord traps a little higher). Its a great drivers race with your altima. Weight doesn't seem to be as much of a factor with the comparison it seems. Dexion had a passenger which made the weight of the cars close to equal and he still lost by a decent margin. Also the tires suck on the accord! Just because they are bigger doesn't mean they are better. I had the same tires on my accord V6. Those are the Michelin pilot MXM4. Its a all season tire with a high treadwear rating(terrible grip). Meant for comfort and not performance. All of us accord guys complain since that was the stock tire for our vehicle.

The good thing is Dexion will get to run the accord guy again. Good luck on your next race and I am curious to hear the results without a passenger.

^^^Those stock tires are STILL much better than the Turenzas.

Only reason that the Accord trapped higher (In those stupid magazines) is because the Altima coupe was having traction issues. They even mentioned it. If your having trouble with traction, thats valuable time to build your speed up. So if they both had the same tires, it would be a different race thats for sure.

Like I said earlier, the Accords "Higher trap speed" didn't out pull me from a roll. I still edged him out when I was stock. So don't listen to those car magazines. The Accord dynoed at 239 WHP. Even lets say my Altima dynoed 235 WHP bone stock, thats a 4 WHP difference. The Accord still weighs more and has less as an advantage.

Now I have the Accord 6 speed and the TL-S 6 speed on my belt for beating them . Dexion, something is up, there is no way you should lose by that much like I said a million times, get your car dynoed/tracked to see.

Not all Altimas run the same, it all depends how you break them in.

I broke my car in pretty much the same way you did, lots of different rev's, a few 50% throttle's and then some WOT's

I got the stock duct back and it already feels like its pulling harder and another thing, I'm spinning in 2nd gear so thats always a good thing. I can't get in a good run because there's too many people when I go out tonight and I see that accord again you can bet there's gonna be a part.2

Another thing that held me back = TCS! it really does screw you up on fast shifts since it feels like its holding the engine back to make sure nothing slips.

yup! like i said earlier, TCS will kill some of your power if your spining them between 1st and 2nd gear(which you should be).

run that accord with out TCS and teach him what the VQ is all about

All my Altima races were done with my TCS OFF. My shifts are a little too fast and cause a bit of wheel spin. When my TCS is ON, there is a TON of lag inbetween 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd its like the car stopped moving and the engine lost all power.

When I raced both the 08 Accord V6 and the 07-08 TL-S, my traction control was off and I taught them a lesson not to mess with the new and improved VQ35DE.

My 242 WHP dyno run was at 1200 feet above sea-level. When you actually SAE the run, I am making about 250 WHP.

Well I raced him again tonight after I put my stock air duct on, and boy did that make a difference.

We did it from a 10mph roll. This time we pulled about even, he was inching past me though, at 110mph he was 3/4 a car ahead.

I still lost but I doubt I'd win anyways. Perhaps jkgultimate has a factory freak, or maybe this black accord is a factory freak. In any case I'll get my car dyno'd and track it as soon as I am able.

If there's something wrong with my engine I have no clue what it would be.

I just saw this link...
Stock 2008 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 1/4 mile Drag Racing timeslip specs 0-60 - DragTimes.com

It makes sense to me now, there's probably nothing at all wrong with my engine.

Seeing as that Accord put down 102mph in the quarter and I was barely a car behind I will probably do 100-101mph in the quarter with the intake.

good re-run , see there was something wrong last time when he pulled 3 lengths on you (1+2) now he only got 3/4 length total .

p.s. i don't believe that time slip because there no pic of the slip and there is only a 1/4 mile and trap number posted , he's missing all the other info and a name . i call fake dragtimes post !!!

Fake drag times post or not, they trap 102 mph in the 1/4. Why cant you just accept the fact that the new accords are no longer pushovers.

Anyway good run Dexion. At least you can man up an admit a loss.

i said that was a fake drag time not cause of the 102 trap but because there was no name , other info or pic of the slip , just a 1/4 mile time and trap which anybody could post .

when did i ever knock or say the new accord is a push over ? i'll tell you , never !!! if you actually red the posts i made you would see that !

the new accord V6 6MT and altima V6 6MT are a very good and close match .
