Genesis does what my stock 4th gen Altima did. Actually, I was a tad quicker. So a 3.8L V6 306 BHP can't beat my 3.5L V6 270 BHP?
The true performer/tuner friendly is the turbo Mitsu-powered model. I'm sure I don't have to get into details as to why.
The 306 "only" pushes 266lb-ft of torque on a 3390 curb weight car.
I also don't think it's an accurate assesment to compare a car in the hands of a mag driver with one in the hands of an actual owner, don't you think?
Motor Trend got a 5.5 sprint and a quarter mile of 14.0 at 101mph with the 6-speed auto. With that kind of a trap speed ... 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track - Specs - First Test - Motor Trend
So don't worry, even the 3.8 in stock form runs good and overall the car is a better performer in terms of handling, etc. IF I were in the market for a coupe, assuming the Toyota/Subaru production never sees the light of day, I'd get the turbo 2-litre 4-cyl GenCoupe in a heartbeat and I wouldn't stay stock for long ...
Also, I didn't think we were allowed to posts vids like that in the Racing Stories section. It's a mag video, as cool as it is (and it's been out for a while now), it's not an actual race by an actual owner.

Being this is Hyundai's first shot at a front engine/rear drive combo, I don't think they did a bad job at it...It's a pretty nice looking car, rather quick (albeit behind the competition), and typically Hyundai's are generally good cars to drive...Give them a couple years to refine it and they'll be right up there with the big boys...Throw that Sedan V8 in the Coupe and you have a beast...Remember, when the 350z first came out, they were slow slugs for the most part...
