That's what I was thinking... why would you want to slow down your shifts by doing it yourself?

The launch control feature is sick, I saw a clip the other day of a Japanese-Spec being put through the paces, and it ran 0-60 in 3.3 on a slick airstrip... pretty impressive.

First Drive: 2009 Nissan GT-R (JDM Spec)

They said a couple of times that if they had been on a better surface with a car that they weren't afraid to break, the could probably shave a couple more tenths off... YIKES!

^^^ the dual clutch tranny that they have in the gtr is faster than a 6-speed manual . 2/10 sec shifts in sport mode .

Anyone checking out the new G 37 for infinity yet? It's pretty impressive, 14" rotors up front and 330 hp. Infinities don't have the aggression of a nissan, but they're figures are pretty impressive. I know I just strayed off of the topic at hand, but we're talking about cars that few people will ever see or have.
I'd rather have a manual tranny for the GT-R, I don't go to the track much. Just something to scoot around town in. Now a 7 speed!!!! That'd be tits, I'd definately get it then... monitarily independently speaking that is...

the gt-r's dual clutch tranny is way better than any manual tranny , as far as speed goes . in the coming years the manual tranny will be fazed out starting with sports cars .

the g37 is an awesome car , its performance #'s are impressive , but you have to be willing to push the pedal to the floor and bring the car to redline , some people buy cars and think just because a magazine ran those times they can . to get those #'s you have to drive it like the test driver did !!!

bmw m5's have 7-speeds and lexus has an 8-speed ( Ls460 , is-f ) .

yah, I was trying to say. The infinities look a little fag to me, they lack the agression looks that the Nissans have. And I know what you are saying about what a car advertieses and all that. Like these people that say they have a ton of hp. They may have that at the crank, but what is it at the wheels. I just thought the G37 was bringing some gnarley stuff to the table. I'd rather get the Nismo 350 personally.

my opinion i would get the 350z enthusiast model ($29,800 and weights 3327 lbs) because the nismo model is $8500 more and i could do a whole lot better for that amount of money . the g37 is $34,800 and weights 3668 lbs . both have the same torque (268-270 lbs/ft) the g37 has 24 extra hp but that doesn't make up for the weight difference . but thats me .
