Beginning to wrap things up finally. I called TRS this morning and had a nice long discussion with Andrew about this setup, the TRS Garage Sale, and a presentation I'm doing for my EN101 class. I ended up having Andrew create an invoice for a pair of 3Five SS AMP ballasts, a pair of 4.3k D2S bulbs, and the cheapest projector TRS has, (more on that in a bit).
When I got home this afternoon I had a surprise from TRS on my front step, my "new" Iris shroud. So I got to work right away. I prepped my already cut Iris and Micro Gatling's for paint and laid down the first coat of primer. While that was drying I mocked up my quad housings and re-aimed the FX-R's and aligned the rotation on the Matchboxes. I couldn't test all 4 at the same time since I would've had to re-run the 9006 harness, swap splitters around, and basically put more work then I wanted to into it right then.
Next I hit the already cut shrouds with one more coat of primer, 3 coats of color, and now 2 coats of clear. I also sprayed the reflector bowl that I had previously scrapped with 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of semi-gloss black. The reason why I now need the halogen bowl is to hide the "L" brackets that I used to mount the FX-R's. I sprayed them the same semi-gloss I used on the interior of the housings to help hide it.

What's left of the Micro Gatling.
In order to get the Micro Gatling to clear I not only had to cut out just about the entire "outer shell" but I also had to cut down the tabs that the lens clip sits on to get it to sit farther back on the Matchbox. The Iris was just a matter of shaving the top down like I did on the E46-R's. Lastly the reflector bowl was a lot of cutting and sanding to make sure I had enough clearance between the Iris and bowl. Tentatively tonight I'll be able to get the drivers side almost fully assembled. Minus the 70mm xB rings of course.
Speaking of the xB rings. I asked Andrew if the new ones coming in would be the V1's or V2's since TRS has been talking about the V2's more and more lately. It turns out the new rings will be the V2's. Now that's a good and bad thing. V2 upgrades, (

Plasma SMD Halo Ring? WTH is this - Page 5). So what this means is I either need to order new 60mm amber rings when they come in or live with having 2 different brightness LED rings. It also turns out that mid-generation of the V1 rings TRS switched over to the male pins on the connectors. So any xB rings ordered in the future will come with male 9006 pins.
Back to the cheap projector now. For my final project in my EN101 class we need to do an informative presentation about any topic of our choosing. I am planning on doing HID lighting and its evolution over the past 20 years. To help explain this I will be bringing in my portable power supply as well as a ballast, 4300 D2S bulb, and projector.
