Curious why you say the non-audi style ones.. When I go on eBay and bring up the audi style ones they don't look any different then the ones you linked, really..

What is the difference(s)?

so i was about to install my leds today, but i decided on vht tint spraying them to get rid of some of the ugly yellow.
bad idea, i only did a very light misting to give it more of a less obnoxiously bright yellow. but that itself blocked out so much light that they looked cheap and dim. im gonna order new strips, but i may just buy those audi style strips now that i know where im gonna mount my lights.

ive decided im gonna mount them right on top of the fog lights, so the lights should kinda blend together.

eta: im still kind of torn on which strips to get. opinions?
either the audi style
or the uniformly placed smd strips (which from a distance looks like a solid line anyways)

heres a shitty mockup. ill be running 35w 6k hids
and i guess the strip on the right would look more like a solid line than individual dots

I bought these ones yesterday..
Amico Car Auto Ornament 60cm White Lamp Flexible 30 SMD LED Strip Light : Amazon.com : Automotive Amico Car Auto Ornament 60cm White Lamp Flexible 30 SMD LED Strip Light : Amazon.com : Automotive

I'm not sure if I want them or the ones like the mercedes use..

I'll wire these on and then decide.. They are so cheap spending $15 and then switching if I don't like them isn't a huge deal..

so i just ended up ordering the audi style strips, but in the meantime i set up the wiring and still put in the pair of lights i messed up. if only they were as bright as before i would be super satisfied.

this is a hastly taken shot of the ledstrips and and my switchback parkings lights. too much glare for my phone, but the strips now do not give off any glare to the naked eye like before.

Those look sweet! Can you post some pics of how they look on the car in the day (want to see how visible they are when they are off in the day).

Thanks

So I want to wire my DRLs so they come on with the vehicle but go off when the headlights are on.. I planned on wiring them like below.. Anyone know an easy place to grab an IGN wire?

Thanks

Relay 1 DRL on (Normally Open Relay) Closes when power is applied
Wire 86 to Ignition
Wire 85 to Ground
Wire 30 +12Vdc Power (Fused)
Wire 87 Power out to Relay 2

Relay 2 DRL off with headlights on (Normally Closed Relay) Opens when power is applied
Wire 86 to a wire that goes hot when headlights are turned on.
Wire 85 To Ground
Wire 30 Power in From Relay 1's Wire 87
Wire 87A out to DRL's + Wire
