Visiting st louis--need tourist advice

Will be in st louis for 3-4 days in late July or early August and would like to know if some of these sites are worth the time and money. St. Louis Zoo, The Arch and riverboat cruise (wife especially interested in the dinner cruise), Grant's Farm, any of the local wineries, and the meramec caverns (a little outside of st louis but thinking of going). Appreciate any info or experiences on these places. looked at plenty websites and just wondering about firsthand knowledge and would also take any suggestions.

hey i live here, you should def check out the zoo. Its totally free to go in, food is super expensive but whatever. The only other things you gotta pay for are the childrens zoo, worth the cash and some insect thing ive never been in. The penguin exhibit is esp. cool. Right across the river is the gateway race track, you may wanna check that out. ive never been but i hear its fun. as for shopping and stuff, check out the Delmar Loop in University City.

Fenton should be more than decent. Go to the zoo (its free), six flags is alright, go to the arch if you have never been. I've heard good things about meramec caverns (its always 60 degrees)but never been there myself. Grants farm was cool when i was 10(9years ago), not sure how it is now. There should be some nice jazz or any type of clubs on lecledes landing near the riverfront. If you like casinos theres Harrah's, Casino Queen, The President, and maybe another or two. St. Louis doesnt have a whole lot to offer but its slowly getting better. You may also want to check out the City Museum, its not a museum like you're thinking.

Thanks for the replies, we're going to six flags and the zoo almost definitely. Will be there 3 days and haven't decided on third days adventures yet. Just a short getaway from the kids which we seldom get a break from.

I lived there for 3 years. You can do the anheiser beer tour, check out bowling museum, arch and fine restaurants. STAY AWAY FROM EAST STL...unless you want to check out the ghettos. If you see larry flynts hustla club then your in the wrong part of town
