Anyone ever had any experience with them? My friend has an 03 elcipse and her dad changed the spark plugs, while he was drunk, and didnt put the plug wires back on right. This caused a misfire and an SES light so they take it to a "mechanic" who charges $35 just to hook up an obd and needless to say they get nothing done there. So finally they take it to the dealer who tells them its $95 for diagnostics testing. Dealer calls back saying the throttle body has too much carbon build up which is causing the misfire, there goes another $80. A day later the ses is still on and all they did was corectly plug in the spark wires. Grand total for a spark plug job $250. I called the dealership yesterday as I was on my way over there in her car to send some heads rollin and the service manager lady says I dont know what Im talking about with the throttle body job being unnessesary. So anyone know if 1) a throttle body job does not require removal of the throttle body and 2) if they have video servalence at that place.

Nope but what I do know is that mitsu's are probably the most expensive cars to have work done on anywhere even non dealers. Wait till she goes to get the brakes replaced and they tell her that they have to change the rotors out because they do not make them with enough tollerance to resurface them. That was a ****ing treat.
He does everything drunk, i like to call him a barely functioning alcoholic. So the rotors arent meant to be resurfaced on the car? Aint that a mutha of biotch. Im glad she didnt trade her 03 in for the new 05's, shes steppin up to a better car next time, a camry.
I seriously doubt they have to remove the throttle butterfly to clean it.
And that would not be the cause of a misfire, but it could make the car idle rough because if enough carbon builds up where the butterfly meets the intake tube it could impede airflow at an idle and not allow enough air through.
But yeah, she got ripped by the dealer and most dealerships do have some sort of video survailance nowadays.
You should have gone online and looked up the correct firing order, moved the wires back and then just disconnected the battery to clear the code.
And you do know that I have a code reader, right? If it's still driveable next time wait a day or two until we can hook up and I can plug it into my scanner.
And don't get me started on how bad Mitsubishi brakes and dealerships are.

^^^Ive got a scanner too. When I went with her the second time to talk to the head of the service dept. we got what had to be done done. As we pull up he along with three other huge ass mitsu employees were at the drive up waiting for us, fag was scared I was gonna do something. So anyways we get out and immediately he starts trying to tell me to shut up because im not the owner of the car and legaly have no right to be involved in the matter. I reply by saying thats because you know you ripped her off and dont want me setting things right. He tries to argue with me but I managed to keep my cool and eventually I prove im right, that the throttle body didnt need any service and that the only prob was that the wires were in the wrong firing order. So after them trying their best to intimidate me shes gettin her money back by way of having some other things that need to be done done for free, "Under warranty." The funny thing is the service manager thought he was gonna scare me into not saying anything, soon as I proved my point the three goons walk away and the bitch I talked to on the phone who started the whole argument in the first place closes her service window and door and drops the blinds. A part of me still wants to cause them some headaches for the ones they caused my girl and the money she had to shell out.
To sum it all up if they had been honest in the first place and just told her the wires were mismatched all of this would have been avoided. Maybe Ill send in some letters and emails to fox undercover and let them know the situation, I like when they go bust on people rippin others off. FUK PUENTE HILLS MITSU!
