2006 Nissan Sentra Engine Randomly Shutting Off
My girlfriend got a Nissan Sentra that from the very next day she got it the engine randomly shuts off and seems to overheat at least that's the guess. When it does shut off all the lights on the dashboard turn on and it dies. It's not throwing any codes and it has been brought into the dealership multiple times and they have no idea what might be wrong with it.
If it sits in the sun the hood needs to be opened to let it cool enough so it can start. When the engine randomly shuts off the only way to get it to start is by opening the hood. This is terrifying when it shuts off especially cause it has happened on the freeway and unfortunately money is still owed on the car so fixing it would be preferred.
What we have found online is that replacing the cam shaft sensor, the crank shaft sensor, and the fuel pump could fix the issue and all of those have been replaced but it hasn't fixed the issue so it clearly must be something else that we don't know about. The fuel pump relay sensor has also been replaced. The cooling system is working properly. Might anyone have further insight on this issue? Thank you!
