Question IPDM problems

I have tried to search old post, but couldn't find what I was looking for. So please forgive me for posting this, but my question is. If I buy a used or another IPDM for my 04 altima will it need to be programmed in the car. Even if it's the same part number. Dealership tried to charge me $800 to replace it. Thank you for your help

No. There is no 'memory' or 'storage' that needs to be programmed in your IPDM. ECU or BCM sure...IPDM is a relay box, nothing more.
