Another turbo car

ok, so with everyone (seemingly) going turbo, my setup is nothing special, especially since its a stock block, but oh well, it will see its day later - when these internals blow.

some of the stuff about to go in...

teardown

some progress

manifold in

getting there...

Nice!
What did everything run you $$-wise?
Is the IC piping custom fabbed, or was some of that stuff from a kit?

i got a super sweet deal...

most of the stuff you see there came from cthunders car, including the intercooler piping. when i got it, most of it was rusted and nasty. my buddy zach wirebrushed all of it and painted it flat black with some aviation grade urethane paint.
the turbo and dp came from ultimatucs car and the greddy catch can i bought separately. all of the s/s braided line came from a hookup at work. all aviation grade an fittings and line. today we fired up the fuel system and found out where the leaks were. tomorrow or the next day, my other buddy will finish wiring in the obd2 harness to the jwt ecu i have. once my resistors come in later this week, we'll fire it up.

Fukk, I wanna boost this pile. I sure hope turbotim gets a 5spd 3.5 from someone.
Have fun with the Altima!

nice! i really want to do something similar to my car, but money is an issue. hence me deciding to go back to school LOL get a good job, save some money, buy a beater and turbo the Altima. of course...ill have to figure everything out with the ECU since the 2nd gens arent as easy to turbo as the 1st gens...but it can be done and has been done i believe.

not like i want anything crazy...250HP would do nicely, me thinks sweet job bro! ill commision you to help me when the day comes and i try to turbo my car (by then ill probably need to drop in a lower mileage engine as well!)

well, we already have the engine (375hp w/o the turbos) and we already have the 5 spd, but we are fighting over price for a t-56, we already have the fuel injection and megasquirt will be ordered soon... not sure how long its going to take. i have to fab the crossmember and mod the oil pan... the plan is to have a carbed version of it on the road by christmas. turbos and strange rear end will be on as soon as i get back from iraq. so, total time is a little over 2 years counting this year and the deployment. it will be on the street though with a v8 and 5spd during that time...

This is what happens when you aren't picky about building your own kit, have the lump sum fees. Personally, I'd rather fabricate and work everything out myself specifically the way I want it, thats why I'm a good 6 months away from having everything completed while your enjoying your friggin boosted car already... i'm a genius....... *SARCASM!!!!!!***
