Man itwillrun, you put me on the spot. I already have the oil pressure and water temp taken care of with the VEI system I'm using. I was also thinking about an EGT as a 3rd gauge.

For now I only have NDS for datalogging but expect that to evolve into something else at some point. For realtime ECU tuning, man that's a good one. Don't exactly know that either but might end up going with something along the lines of Nistune or Nismotronic route. But if I can get a hidden project moving along during this winter then I might take a different route. I'm trying to get my ECU running with NVSRAM so the ECU can be programmed in realtime. It would require patching the ECU CONSULT code to accept write commands and that will be a little challenging as well. But that's a long shot so can't exactly say where this is all heading.

This project has been stalled. My priorities has changed in my life and I have another love affair. Who knows, perhaps some day in the future I will get back around on it. But for now I don't see that happening.

I have been wondering what you were doing. I don't blame you for slightly losing the desire with the Altima, I will not lie I didn't lose my desire but it's tough to put so much money and time into these cars. Good luck with whatever else your working on.

Yeah, it's sitting there collecting dust. The project has stalled but hasn't died, per se. One piece I really need to get done is the intercooler inlet piping. I need to find someone that can weld stainless steel and get the right bends in it so that I have a solid piece in there. Right now, it has a few junctions of piping and silicone hose in place but that's not going to cut it if this thing is to going live. My kid is growing up fast, so who knows? Perhaps it'll become his first car for the future!

There is also another piece of German engineering sitting in my driveway which has captivated me as well. And as it always go with new toys, they always get the full attention.

We'll see...

My little brother has had a little '00 540i 4.4L for some time now and it's an addictive little machine...It wouldn't take me 5 minutes to totally forget the Altima, as fun as it can be around town for a low powered compact.

For the record, I'm not saying that serrano bought a 540i lol...

Congrats on the purchase, I keep saying I'll replace the Altima and finally plan to in the next few months or so myself. Sadly though I'd almost rather park it than sell it, bought the Altima just before getting married!
