16" to 18" wheel change 2012 Altima?

I own a 2012 Altima 2.5S sedan. It came with the basic 16" wheels with plastic wheel covers. I put on a set of 18" rims off a 2007 Maxima with P235/45 tires. These 18" wheels are about 8-10 lbs heavier per wheel than my 16" wheels. When I drive the car with the 18" wheels it feels like there are 5 adults in the car plus the trunk is full of luggage. I can feel the extra weight of the wheels with the 18s on the car. Less power when I start off and drives more sluggish with the extra weight of the wheels. I am concerned about strain on the CVT transmission. Should I be concerned about tranny strain? Anyone else experienced this going to a bigger rim on their 2.5 engine Altima?
THANKS!

I have a 2014 2.5 and went from 16" to 20" and feel no difference in performance. Hope I don't ruin my CVT.
