2017 Altima - External Ground Lighting/Illuminated Kickplates
I recently bought a brand new 2017 Altima SV. I went from dealership to dealership to get the OEM light that plugs into the door. For some reason my car did not come with this preinstalled, but I had the wiring harness for it already in place so it was a simple plug and play addition. (I think the wiring was done because i have the navigation package in my particular SV model.)
I have a huge thing about lighting on a car. I don't like plastic pieces where lights should so obviously be, and I personally love the Nissan brand and prefer to stick with OEM parts. My car did not come with the external ground lighting or the illuminated kick plates, but I have really been thinking about having them put on. I wanted to hear from those of you that already have them. Are they worth it? Do they actually add value to the car, or is it just a fancy party trick?
I am also wondering if these parts are waterproof. I had to take my car back to the dealership to have the door seal replaced because apparently mine was defective and it let water in which caused one of my airbag sensors to fail. (I bought it like that. The car has under 350 miles on it right now.) When it rains (and i live in Florida, so...) i can open any door on the vehicle and find water drops all over my preinstalled black kick plates. I don't want to buy something just to have it break in a week due to water. What do you guys think?
